Chapter 7 All Chris could do was wait. He paced from the kitchen to the living room a few times before deciding to load the dinner plates into the dishwasher. The night was supposed to have been about being with James, not the mess it had become. After cleaning the kitchen, he walked to the living room and then peeked out the front window. He needed to do something to release his growing anxiety. With no activity in the front, he walked through the kitchen once more, toward the laundry room at the back of the house where three security monitors sat on the counter across from the washer and dryer.
