Chapter Five

"Were 'Bestowed Marriage', 'Lime', and 'Well - Matched Rivals' all pushed away by you?" Corey asked Nicholas in disbelief. These three dramas became extremely popular later, and Corey had been approached as the lead actor initially. "Bestowed Marriage" was a period drama, "Lime" was a youth campus drama, and "Well - Matched Rivals" was a strong - character workplace drama. The scripts of the three dramas were all excellent and very much to Corey's taste. But in the same way, at the last moment, the lead actors were changed, causing Corey to miss out on all three dramas, and the new lead actors all rose from being newcomers to become big - name stars overnight. Nicholas let out a soft "hmm". Before, Corey had always thought that these strange experiences were just due to his bad luck. So, his originally bright future had been deliberately cut off? He was an ordinary person. First, he loved acting and wanted to act well. Second, of course, he had desires. He also wanted to become famous and go further on this path. He was so angry that he couldn't speak for a while, and his whole body trembled involuntarily. Nicholas' lips curved slightly: "Are you cold?" He got up and closed the open window. Corey was right in front of him, and for Nicholas, it was really sweet. He was in an unprecedentedly good mood. "Who the hell do you think you are?" Corey finally found his voice, but his voice was still unsteady. "How can you have the nerve to meddle in my life and choices?" So, the initial thought that Nicholas was a bit crazy. It was an understatement. He thought Nicholas was simply insane! Nicholas stood with his back to him and began to slowly draw the curtains. "I also asked myself who I thought I was," as the curtains slowly closed, completely isolating this small room from the outside world, Nicholas turned around and said, "In the first two years, I saw many psychologists, both at home and abroad, famous and unknown." His voice was too flat, no matter what he was narrating. "I also took a lot of medicine, all kinds of medicine," Nicholas knelt down in front of Corey on one knee and looked up at him from below, "But it was no use, not at all. I want you, want to sleep with you, want to devour you. I can't control these impulses." When Nicholas said such words, his tone was still as normal as if it was only natural. Corey really started to be afraid: "You, are you crazy?" Hearing this, Nicholas actually laughed. He was indeed crazy, and Nicholas was well aware of his own madness. His mind was at two extremely opposite poles. It was as if there was always a calm and rational self watching the crazy self do countless crazy things. At first, he knew that his state was very abnormal, so he chose to see a psychologist, trying to control his emotions so as not to cause further harm to Corey. On the other hand, his control over Corey, both in career and life, kept deepening uncontrollably. In the end, he learned perfectly how to control his external emotions without a flaw, but inside, he was already filled with insatiable, empty desires. It was like the withered hands of a ghost trying to pull Corey down into the dry well and devour him. He didn't have many things he truly desired. The only addiction that went deep into his bones was Corey. "If you want to act," Nicholas lovingly kissed Corey's hand, "you can act in anything you want, on the condition that you're with me." The back of the hand that had been kissed by him felt as if it was pricked by a weak electric current. Corey couldn't help but pull it back. His mind was in a complete mess at this time, and he subconsciously asked Nicholas, "Anything?" "Hmm..." Nicholas paused and thought for a while, "No bed scenes. For kissing scenes, can you use a body double or a trick shot?" The questioning tone at the end of the sentence was as if saying those two words "trick shot" was already extremely generous. Corey grabbed the big pillow on the bed and threw it at Nicholas' face, covering his handsome face. No matter how handsome he was, he was still a p*****t, a shameless p*****t. "What if I don't want to?" Corey took a deep breath and asked. "Don't want what?" Nicholas put the pillow aside and stared at Corey's face. Although his tone remained the same, he slowly stood up. The previous squatting position had greatly reduced the sense of oppression he exuded. Now that he stood up again, his tall figure completely overshadowed Corey. And the sudden disappearance of Nicholas' smile added a layer of frost to his whole being. The atmosphere, which had seemed to calm down for a while, suddenly became extremely tense. Corey had a premonition that as long as he said one wrong word at that moment, the situation would completely get out of control. But he was sulky and very dissatisfied with Nicholas. He even harbored some intertwined hatred. So, he blurted out the words that would definitely anger Nicholas. "I don't want to be with you." He looked up fearlessly and met Nicholas' gaze, each word hitting the point that Nicholas least wanted to hear. The ghostly hand in the dry well in Nicholas' heart immediately shot out. It wished it could pull Corey down, tear him apart, and devour him completely so that he could no longer say such words. At least not now. Corey kept these six words in his heart because if he said them, he would feel that he was too spineless. Being inexplicably forced to this point by Nicholas and having his life thrown into chaos like this, he still couldn't really hate Nicholas from the bottom of his heart. Ultimately, it was because Nicholas was too shrewd. He knew clearly that Corey didn't have anyone else in his heart at that time. Even Joyce was just a result of Corey's curiosity and the pursuit of novelty. When it came to true love, the only emotional entanglement Corey had ever had was the innocent one with him in their youth. Over the years, he had never given Corey the chance to be attracted to anyone else. However, when he heard Corey say that he didn't want to be with him, even though Nicholas knew Corey's true feelings, he couldn't suppress his rage. Nicholas suddenly pushed Corey down onto the bed. His eyes were like those of a ferocious beast. The overwhelming anger he exuded made Corey shrink back involuntarily. His hands and feet were restrained by Nicholas, and he could only feel burning kisses falling on his face, lips, and neck. "Nicholas, you," he wanted to open his mouth to rebuke Nicholas' actions, but Nicholas turned his head and held his lips, wantonly molesting him. Corey was completely passive, being dominated by Nicholas on the bed. The last time they were this intimate was seven years ago. Now, although the situation was similar, their feelings were completely different. Nicholas' angry kisses made Corey very uncomfortable. In Corey's opinion, where the hell did Nicholas get the nerve to be angry? He gathered his anger. Knowing that Nicholas was on guard, he simply relaxed his body and even responded with his lips and tongue. Feeling Corey's soft tongue twining around his own, Nicholas was momentarily distracted and then let out a low gasp. He reached down to tear open Corey's coat, but unexpectedly, Corey bent his leg and kicked him hard between the legs. Even Nicholas was kicked in a painful spot and was immediately pushed aside. Taking the opportunity, Corey immediately jumped out of bed, wiped his mouth, and tried to stay as far away from Nicholas as possible. The two stared at each other. Suddenly, Nicholas called out, "Baby!" He looked a bit pitiful.
