When he returns to Shawna’s booth, he snags the shipping crate he’d been dancing on and drags it into the back behind the merchandise so he can hide away from everyone. He hopes for a dramatic return—maybe Jen will see his pout and rush to his side, eager to cheer him up—but she’s chatting with a butch dyke who’s hitting her up, and Shawna’s busy making a sale. So Chip flounces down on the shipping crate with little ceremony, and when he heaves a dejected sigh, no one notices. He leans back on the crate, angry and sad.
