"Stop… stop."
I covered my ears with my hands, but the noise didn’t sound like it was coming from around the forest—it felt like it was coming from inside my mind.
What was happening? It looked like everything was spinning, the ground was rotting underneath my feet.
Let the monster out, King Lucian, a deep voice spoke, but I couldn’t see anyone. It came from the shadows.
"Show yourself…" I yelled out in frustration, my head spinning.
"Come fight me like a man."
The voice echoed again, dark, dangerous.
Who said I was a man? I am darkness, and you can’t face me.
