Saraphina's POV
Ugh...ugh.
I slowly opened my eyes, but I couldn't see anything. I was in so much pain, everywhere ached. I slowly stretched my shaky hands to support myself on the cold, hard floor.
Everywhere was completely dark… what happened? I felt a pang of pain from the back of my head. When I reached and touched it, my hair was damp and sticky.
That wasn't water.
That couldn't be water… the last thing I remember was trying to cross over a particular river and something hit me on the head.
What happened?
Panic settled in my chest. I forced myself to sit up. Where was I? My clothes were cold and clung to my skin. My breath was shallow and fast. The air was so cold it made me shiver.
Suddenly, I heard a sound coming from the darkness. I bit my lips and listened to the dripping.
