Lucian’s POV There were so many bodies on the ground. I had tried to hold my wolf back, but I wasn’t strong enough. Saraphina was on the ground, covered in blood, ash, and bruises. I rushed to her side, and there was blood dripping from her eyes. “Saraphina...” I pulled her into my arms. She was out cold, her breathing shallow. I felt weak, but I couldn’t stay here. Whatever attacked us, I wouldn’t give it a second chance. I carried her in my arms and walked through the woods, unsure of how deep I was. “Stay with me, Saraphina,” I whispered beneath my breath as I continued moving. I couldn’t lose her.
