Love Renewed
“Hello!” Danielle said blushing and fidgeting with her phone tightly glued to her ear. Eva leaned inwards rubbing her hands together in anticipation. “ I'll be there soon” she said again grabbing her hand bag from the corner.
“Who was that?”
“That was work. I need to go now”
“How about the walk?” Eva asked making a puppy face.
“You should still go okay. I'll make it up to you” she said getting up and leaving a kiss on her forehead.
Eva put on the tracksuit and headed towards the sitting room gruelingly. She came down the stairs gradually and met Gabriel and Danielle talking by the door.
“Hey babe, is everything alright?” she asked from quite a distance.
“Yes babe everything is fine. Danielle and I were just exchanging pleasantries” he answered smiling sheepishly.
“That’s right” Danielle said looking confused as Eva came closer. “I’ll just go. Quick recovery guys, hope to see y’all at work in no time.” she said as she exited the house.
Gabriel hugged and kissed Eva “Good morning love. Hope you slept well ” he said affectionately
“Yes I did dear. I missed you in bed this morning, hope you slept well too”
“ Sure did. Just went for a morning walk”
“ You should have woken me up” she said making a blubbering face.
“ Didn’t know you'd be interested but i’ll walk with you if you need me to”
“That’ll be great”
and they walked out the door holding each other’s hands.
Gabriel saw Eva like his shining star and practically adored the floor she walked on. He was going to do everything and anything she asked for at that moment. Eva felt like at queen. She didn't regret sacrificing for her husband a single moment.
They got back from the walk beaming with smiles from cracking jokes, holding hands and basking in each other’s warmth. Their love was renewed, and everyone could see it clearly. They got into the house to a trail of roses and a chef ushering them to the the dining professionally.
Eva looked at Gabriel with an inquiry on her face while smiling impressively at the same time. Gabriel pulled out a chair for her and she sat on it. She grinned uncontrollably while switching the position of the sandwich and fruit basket in anticipation to eat.
The chef made sure everything was intact and left. Gabriel and Eva had a grand breakfast. Their eyes sparked with adoration as they couldn't look away from each other as they ate.
They became like teenagers that just fell newly in love with butterflies in their tummies.
“It’s been a while we had breakfast together” Eva said with her mouth full
“ yeah but why though?”
“You’re always in a hurry for work”
“And you’re always busy doing your make up right? ” he said as he squinted as if expecting a response.
“Not really, you know I don't apply serious makeup” she answered nudging him lightly by the elbow.
“Okay okay you win” his both hands were up in surrender “Lets’s eat up”
They both enjoyed the day off in each other's company. Catching up, laughing at each other's jokes and snuggled in their arms. They didn't even notice when Alexander got back from school.
“Lets go to the park dad or play a game.” Alexander said nudging Gabriel who was sitting on the couch with Eva massaging her feet. The couple exchanged glances which showed reluctance.
“What’s really wrong dad? You and mom have been really distant lately” Alex said his voice sad and teary.”
“We’re good son. Just spending a little time together” Gabriel answered placing his hand on Alex’s shoulder softly.
“Does that mean I’m bothering you?”
“Hell no!” Eva answered this time holding his hand and pulling him close to herself.
“Then why can't I join you guys in spending quality time?”
“You can baby. What game do you want?” Gabriel asked looking at his wife encouraging her to give in.
“Yaayy”
“We can't go to the park today though so don't get too excited” Gabriel said to the already hopping little boy.
His joy lowered a little. “Okay okay lets play catch outside. I miss playing catch and throw”
“That is okay” they both said standing up and heading outside to the field.
Alex was a really happy child. He usually played with his mom, dad or both in the evenings after work and school. It hadn't been possible since after the surgery. He didn't really understand what was going on but he genuinely missed his parents and wanted to play. The trio had a good evening and retired to bed exhausted.

“Welcome sir! It’s so good to have you back ” Danielle said ushering Gabriel into his office as he walked into the Harvey’s family company; an architectural masterpiece.
“Thanks Danielle how have you guys been?”
“We have been trying”
“Welcome sir!” some of the staff shouted as they saw him stroll in, smiles on their faces.
Gabriel grinned a little, waved at them and went in. Sitting down on the black ergonomic chair, he heaved a sigh of relieve.
“I need you to make a dinner reservation for Eva and I tonight by 8pm at Chic restaurant” He said to Danielle opening his laptop and typing in the a few letters.
“I’ll do just that” she answered underneath her breath, grumpily as she left the office.
“Feels so good to be back” Gabriel said checking his system for updates of all that has been going on in the company during his absence.
The reservation for dinner was made and Eva was told to get herself ready.
Gabriel got back from work and went in to behold his stunning wife strolling down the stairs. Her shining red heels welcomed him and looking up through her fair long legs was a fitted black dress that embraced her nice, curvy body.
The slit was daring. It extended all the way to her thighs. The dress revealed a little cleavage and was sleeveless. She looked absolutely gorgeous with light make up on her delicate face, a bold, red lipstick and her hair dropping over her shoulders.
He stood by the entrance, his lips parted in awe as she walked down to meet him. She kissed him softly. “Welcome honey”
He couldn't stop staring. “You look gorgeous” he managed to let out.
“I'll just wait for you to freshen up” she said smiling seductively and heading to sit on the sofa.
She sat down and crossed her legs. Her heart full of gratitude for how things were going for them while waiting for Gabriel who went up stairs to get ready. He almost stumbled from looking back and staring at her. It had been a while since they had a dinner date.
Gabriel and Eva were so crazy in love since from their college days and everyone knew them. They even got the couples award on prom night. They soon got married after school and went on with loving each other. Unfortunately, it all began to grow cold when Gabriel’s father died from a fatal car accident.
He was now saddled with the responsibility of over seeing the affairs of the Harvey family company. He became CEO, a highly demanding position which required a lot of time and devotion.
Eva had Alex as well who she devoted most of her time and affection to.
Eva barely waited as Gabriel got dressed in no time. He was confidently dressed in a nice black suit with a shiny white shirt and a silk tie. His well polished leather shoes and a simple leather wrist watch conveyed elegance.
The scent of his perfume was to die for. He stood tall with his head held high and smiled warmly as he came close to her. He bent his elbow and she slipped her hand confidently into it as they walked out the door.
The chauffeur got the range rover ready and Gabriel helped Eva into it as well as himself. They drove to the restaurant with her head on his shoulder at the back seat. Caressing each others hand like they would slip through each others fingers of they released their grip.
“Welcome to Chic restaurant” a soothing, feminine voice welcomed them as they got there. They smiled and let her usher them to the table reserved for their date.
“Eva McAuley!” a firm masculine voice called out confidently behind them as they headed to their table.
