A Retreat To Rest In PeaceIt was a fine clear night with a moon shining as the fox led the two pigs across the countryside. The route took them over fields and the edge of the moor but never far from the woods. Travelling with the young fox was different from how it had been with his aged uncle. He was very quick and for much of the time moved well ahead, in and out of the shadows. When the animals were together the conversation was of a general nature. If asked any personal questions, his answers were always abrupt and evasive. Tammy tried to exchange friendly chit-chat, talking about his uncle and the help he had given them but the fox was unresponsive. Likewise their destination was barely discussed and remained a mystery. It became clear the fox was intent on discharging his duties
