Amber Stepping out of work, I inhaled a lungful of air. Being in an office all day long took its toll on your body, especially when you’re hunched over a desk, frantically typing. The latest story was about a series of kidnappings that were happening all over the towns around ours; it was terrifying that the numbers were increasing daily. I pushed my hair behind my ear, scanning the streets before heading home. I hated being nervous in my hometown, especially when the police had zero leads. They only took women. Young women.
