A DAY WELL SPENT

Millie and Eva had a minute of silence of their own, weaving their own chains of thoughts , moments later, Millie put out ,
"what in way it has to do with your dream? moreover , don't lash on me after listening to what i will say next ??",
Millie murmured piously,
" after your narration , I had my memory recall some of the instances , so frankly your half of the storytelling was just a time- eater, I didn't stop you , because I feared you would eat me out " .
Millie's brainless words bought a tint of smile on Eva's face ,
"I did expect that from you ,whatsoever , as a listener, till now you can't really make out the connection between the incident and my dream, I will tell you what happened next, that would indeed bring your senses to collaborate between the two and then work out your brains over it?".
Eva worded ,Millie nodded ,both best friends in their official talk, what would not take time to fly away , it was now nearing six in the evening and the two didn't have thought of ,as to it was getting late for both to return back , but indeed the staff had an eye on it and so does he intimidated them about the same ,
"ma'am would you like to have something more?"
The staff again sniffing into the conversation asked ,
Millie replied,
"No, thank you , we are done"
as if waiting to hear it, the staff soon handed out them the bill, an act of professionalism we say .
Eyeing the bill , as if the bill had bought both back to their senses , Eva had a peek at the time just to be sitting dumbstruck after knowing It was past six, but Millie , still in her dreaming era .
Eva soon took hold off the bill ,hurriedly, paid off and dragged Millie with her back to path, to the same mall, to the same spot they had met hours ago.
Millie ,unaware of the happenings, she went on with the flow of Eva, though her troublesome mind pushed her to question, as to what made Eva be so in haste and that too at this time ,time had her mind pass a new thought ,
" oh the word time, exists in real? in what world was i !!, careless me!"
murmured Millie, her eyes searching for any device that could give her a sense of the current cadence of nature while being dilly dallied by Eva?
giving up on her search, Millie uttering
"Can I know the time please Eva?, cause I was asked to return the costume before 6:00!, and why would you drag me around here?, are you up to laundering again? as your past self !!"
"I have changed a lot girl. As of for the time it is in your favor, just know that and now for time being Just switch off your merest brain , will you??",
Millie ,abiding by the rules of bossy Eva went on with the flow keeping mum.
Finally ,Eva came to a stop and Millie by side, her eyes still pottering around the very familiar surroundings. It was '?r?????????' ,the same shop that Millie wanted to visit , here comes Millie's eyes to the spot,
"'?r?????????'!why would you bring me back here again? "
Millie again opening up her intellect ,asked, Eva still silent dragged in, finally inside she spoke,
" come on! I want you to select your favorite item from this store?"
Eva commanded to Millie, Millie's face still in exclamation!.
"But ! why should I ,why would I ,you can see the place is so expensive that I would even have to rent a pair of high heels to walk in here ,aesthetic indeed, so also , am soo rich that I can't even afford those heels for rent!" ,
Millie added her pitious condition ,
Eva holding Millie's hands, spoke,
" am not asking you to buy the place !, It is your birthday and as of namesake, am your best friend , so I should abide by my duties , i wanted to gift you something. So here you go , select what you want",
Hearing this Millie had her eyes tearing up,
"I thought you forgot my birthday!, you dumbheaded best friend Eva,Thank you!"
Millie stated hugging her tight.
"There's no time for being sentimental, I know you had always wanted to visit the shop, so here I am your Genie or Aladdin, Whatever you suggest, to grant your wish",
" Thank you",
Again, Millie's kind gesture, having their shopping session done, and finally for Millie , her wish come true on her birthday, she was in air, out of excitement, cherishing her deserving moments , she had a peek on Eva's watch just to record the moment but ironically the time pushed her off guard, from the sweetest version of her's ,to the blown away version of herself , it was 8 o'clock,
she looked at Eva, Eva Smiling,
" the time 'was' in your favor, but now that you're happy don't mind it .."
Millie mumbling,
"but I had to return it ,moreover the day's payment ?I had to collect it!"
Eva,
"Oh!, don't you worry!, let's complete it tomorrow, and now I'm going to give you an another bad news, I'm staying with you tonight. "
"Oh no!, why would you close my birthday on such a tragic note?, It's a lumber some task to handle you ",
Millie sniggeringly replied, both, cackling to their self-made, lame jokes and paddled their way back home , a typical teasing friendship indeed .
Returning home ,Millie's usual comment, "mom your prodigy is back, but this time I am accompanied by a tragedy named Eva!",
Eva trailing, Millie giggling to her own statement and Eva ,giving her a nice smack for it, true soulmates in truth who would never leave their partners alone to tee-hee on any crappy joke.
" Welcome Eva, so long, but so good to see you, how you and your family are doing??"
" hello aunty , I'm good and family also, it was our accidental meeting, if Millie hadn't come to..."
Hurriedly, Millie gripping Eva 's mouth,
" Okay, Mom, I'm so tired, we are going to our room , we had , had our dinner already, Good night, If I don't grab Eva like this, she will stay hours to talk and I don't have time for that, so bye !"
Millie dragged Eva with her upstairs to her room leaving her mother behind , who is left downstairs to think as to , 'what happened to Millie?,why this odd behaviour!, anyway returned to complete her rest of chores.
"you would now had just exposed me totally , Eva!!"
" Why?, now don't tell me aunty doesn't know about it, your work at mall?"
Eva queried ,
" Yes, you had it right! indeed she doesn't know"
Millie notified,
"What's with you?, Why are you in such a strange situation? "
Eva asked,
" I will tell you the detailed story, but let's complete yours first, Okay?"
Millie calmed down Eva.
Both in their room, a typical current generation behaviour of just enclosing themselves in their four walled small palaces ,their room ,away from rest of the family members .......
, freshing up turn-by-turn ,going through the very model sleepover routine , they arrived on their last routine, the late night gossips ,
but before that, at other side of the home, was Steel, who stepping out of his little den and at dinner desk, half-asleep ,minutes before filling his ears with the lectures, showered on him by his not so patient mother ,father and then , seeing of his father to field ,for the rest night duties ,
he asked his mother,
" did sister return?",
"Yes ,she's in her room " ,
hearing this, he jumped up from his seat and had begun to storm up, just as when the limiting voice sounded
" Steel?, where are you swishing up to?, Millie is with Eva, are you planning to take part in the girls night ?, actually, I hope to hear a 'no'",
Steel dropping silently ,back to the table, procrastinated his so important talk to some other time .
