The next week went by very slowly and each day passed in the same manner. During the weekdays, Rose would wake up early in the morning and prepare for the day, and once she was done, she would have breakfast.
If she was feeling up to it, she went to Xander’s room to administer his medication, but when she felt that she was getting too close to him, she would withdraw herself and ask Wayne to do it. He had no qualms with her request whatsoever.
On this particular day, right before she had to go to work, she knocked on Xander’s door and heard a soft ‘come-in’. She cautiously opened the door as she was carrying a tray with medication and a syringe and entered the room.
“Good morning,” she simply said, Joseph sitting upright in the bed.
“Morning,” he greeted back quietly. The relationship
