“So, this is Rose?” Ruth strutted forward and stopped directly in front of Rose and Hannah. She was a few inches taller than them without her high heels adding a little more height. Both of them had to tilt their heads upwards to see her face.
“You certainly clean up well. I remember you were quite pretty but this takes the cake. Designer clothes, an expensive car and booking out this entire hotel?” Ruth scraped her nail against the shoulder of Rose’s dress to test the material, “How did you get all this? Did you where yourself off to-”
“Watch your tongue, Ruth!” Hannah snapped, attracting some eyes to her and Ruth.
Ruth smiled slyly, “Getting defensive, are we? People might mistaken you two for a couple.”
Hannah’s cheeks became flushed.
“Don’t make such unfounded assumptions. Rose an
