Eric was too far away to make it in time. The bat was only a few inches from striking her face and possibly breaking every bone in her head. She thought it was the end for her. However, the notion of seeing her grandmother again when she hadn’t accomplished anything to help her rest in peace pumped her blood through her body. She brought her arm up and the bat hit her wrist instead. She fell backwards on to the ground to see the man raised the bat in the air again. This time, though, Eric made it time and he was able to run around Rose, grab the bat mid-air, then punch the man in the face.
