The law office of Damian Cole was always quiet, organized and serious. Every paper was in its place, every appointment was noted down and there is no time for any other than work and justice. Damian himself was exactly like his office sharp, focused and known as one of the best lawyers in the city.People said he had no time for feelings and romance, he only cared about helping people and winning cases.

Sitting beside working as his most trusted assistant is Laila. She was kind, patient and intelligent and knew every part of law as well as he did. She worked hard always preparing everything perfectly for him and admired him deeply though she never dared to say so. To her he was brilliant, strong and most wonderful man she has ever met, even if he always seemed so serious and distant.

One day a man name Ethan walked into their office. He seem so tired and worried, like he carry the whole weight of the world on his shoulders. As a single father who love his daughter more than anything he has come because he has nowhere else to turn to.

Damian sat across from him his expression calm but attentive. “Tell me everything”, he said gently.

Ethan took a deep breath and began to speak.

“My daughter is eighteen years old. For years, it has just been the two of us and I have done everything I could to give her a good life. Now her mother, my ex wife has come back after being gone for years. She never cared about us, about our daughter. But now she has found out that our daughter will inherit the large family fortune very soon. And now she wants custody not because she loves her, not because she wants to fight for her,but purely because of the money.She wants to take her away, take control and live her with nothing but pain and sadness.”

His voice shook with emotion.”I cannot let that happen. My daughter is my whole word. I will do anything, fight anything, to protect her happiness and future. Please..will you help me?”

Damian sat quite for a moment his mind already working. He could see how much this man loves his child and how much greedy and selfish the ex wife is. He looked over to Laila who was listening with her heart full of sympathy and determination.

Then looked back to Ethan who gave him a firm, sure nod. “I will take your case. We will fight for justice, we will fight for your daughter,and we will make sure greed does not win this time. You have my word.”

Laila smile softly,her heart swelling with pride and administration for the man she worked beside.
