Peyton woke up earlier than normal to get away from the hustle and Hunter, trying to be as quiet as possible. It always felt weird going out hunting without her father. She always feels like he’s watching her though like he could see her even though he’s at the house.
Doyle hasn’t let her go alone ever. It was Lily’s idea to let her think she could on funeral days, but he hasn’t let her go alone ever, well he did the day of Lily’s funeral. She never sees him, he’s too good but at least if she needs him, he is there for her.
It always amazes him how good she is, even with her traps it seemed by the time he passed them something was already caught. The path is always the same, they go to Lily’s lily patch, she always visits it after Peyton collect the flowers for the funeral and for her mother. He can see her in every flower in this nursery, she meant him to. The year they got married she started this, even though she was pregnant. It was so he knew why he worked so hard with the lumber jacks all the way out here in the woods, so he knew he had his very own Lily waiting at home. It never occurred to her that since she never saw him while planting or caring for this, that he wouldn’t ever see it but that didn’t matter to him, he had her. Doyle knows now that he still has part of her waiting at home now and that one day, he will see her again so now these lilies don’t hurt him as much as they did before. Peyton hasn’t let them die for the past 4 years, he doesn’t know how she keeps them alive all winter but this patch of white and green is the most beautiful part of the forest year-round hidden away from anyone who isn’t family. It’s like magic how she does it.
He lost track of the time he was spending here admiring the lilies but sadly his lovely moment was ruined by the roar of a dragon too close for his liking especially since he has lost sight of his daughter. Doyle jumped up of the lily bed rushing after her tracks, she’s his daughter so she doesn’t leave much to follow but he tried anyway, loading his bow. It may not work but it’s all he had ready at the moment.
Peyton ducked down at the sound of the roar, it felt like it was next her. Before she could draw her weapon a huge gust of wind blew her back off her feet, the dragon must be too close and heading back into town. Peyton got up running back towards the house when she was blown back yet again twice this time. Two dragons! She ran placing her back to a tree loading her bow wishing she had a better plan. The roars were behind her now and it was a fight she never thought she would hear so close. It wasn’t safe here she needed to get away before one of them wins and goes looking for something to eat, where Hutch when she needs him he would know exactly what to do. Suddenly Peyton felt something push her feet right out from under her and a loud crash into the trap beside her.
Doyle looked into the field watching the dragons attack each other unsure what he was really looking at it was just swirling colors of gold and red blood painting the trees around. Peyton’s track was too close to this he ran back into the cover of trees, frantically looking for Peyton. Finally, he saw her by a tree bow ready, at least she was preparing for something. He was about to expose himself let her know he never lets her go hunting alone when the roaring stopped and she disappeared into the grass, from the look of it she fell but he couldn’t risk it. He couldn’t tell if it took her or she’s knocked out in the tall grass but either way he felt his feet running faster than ever towards her, stopping as she came up inching towards a tree in front of her. He hid behind a tree watching her inch her way over to whatever it was.
Peyton looked into the trap seeing the remains of a bunny as well as something she couldn’t believe. It was by far the smallest she’s ever seen, that any human has ever seen. This young the mother always keeps it close Peyton leaned in to make sure she wasn’t seeing anything, make sure it was a real live dragon in her trap.
It looked like a newborn kitten with a dove’s set of wings accept it was blue, a very light shade of blue like the sky in the middle of the summer. The wires in the trap were wrapped around its left wing and two of its paws that she could see, it was struggling to get out. Peyton slowly started to reach in not sure if she wanted to kill it or save it. It looked so helpless she didn’t know which was better, one day this will be as vicious as the one that attacked yesterday but right now it was defenseless and she just couldn’t see it being evil right now. Just before she touched its head it turned to look up at her making her pull her hand back immediately out of pure reflex. It started to scurry down and try to get away even with its legs and wings trapped in wire, but Peyton couldn’t look away from its sky-blue eyes. All she could see was Amethyst as a baby and her dragon costume it looked exactly like this baby dragon, she can’t kill this. Peyton reached her hand in unsure if she would eventually regret this as she unwrapped its wing and legs from the wires in her trap feeling its soft feathers under hands and the smooth fur brushing across her fingers. To her surprise, it didn’t bite or attack her, it looked up at her and let her help free it.
Peyton sat back letting it try to come out on its own watching its pop its blue little kitten face in and out of the box looking up at her, it wasn’t until she could see the feathers of its wings pop up that she knows it was coming out. How could this little thing have made her fall so hard, or even grow to be the beast she’s seen. It’s nothing like how the text books made them look, in the text book they had scales still. The only way they knew it was a year old or more was scientist did whatever test they needed to on the dragon who were able to be killed and the ones Seaton killed. They never mentioned fur, as Peyton watched its little paws climb out, she wondered when the fur went away or this was a rare dragon that just as fur rather than scales. How old is it? How big will it get? How fast? She was looking at the biggest discovery in centuries and knew any other person would kill it so, why won’t she? Is it purely for educational purposes or does she actually feel sorry for this? It could grow up and kill one day. Maybe it could be good if she found out how to teach it, maybe they are only bad because human make them bad. Peyton smiled reaching her handout to it hoping it would come up and let her pet it.
It sniffed her hand a little then bounced up making her jump back slightly as it touched its head to her cheek like a real cat would only with this dragon, she felt herself leave her body. It was like walking through a dream, a huge gold dragon making Peyton step back seeing it how close she was, she didn’t even realize she was standing again. Where is she? The center of this small opening looked familiar somewhere near town, actually it was near where she was just a few moments ago. The dragon wasn’t looking at her it was looking at the area between its tail and body, so Peyton inched her way over to this large golden dragon. Closer she saw that it had scales a bunch of them skinning like little shield, she’s no scientist so she couldn’t guess how old, but it definitely wouldn’t be able to die from her arrows, which Peyton realized just then wasn’t with her anymore. She felt her heart starting to race wanting to run but she felt trapped and pulled to look at what the dragon was looking at. She leaned over the tail hoping it wouldn’t look up at her seeing 6 eggs some with pretty sever cracks in them, she wanted to lean in closer, but she was practically touching this dragon’s tail already, she didn’t need it to see her, yet she wasn’t prepared. She looked around for the blue baby dragon that sent her here defenseless, but it was nowhere to be seen. Finally, she heard the 1st egg c***k, as she looked in, she saw a black and white baby with thorns or spikes down its spine fall out if it as the gold dragon leaned in pushing the shells away from it.
“Traquin.” A woman’s voice said making Peyton looked around then she looked back at the gold dragon, could it be? Another egg cracked, Peyton looked at the eggs before she asked seeing a purple dragon spread out across the grass and white shells as the mother dragon did the same pushing the shells away from the baby. Peyton actually looked at this one its only slightly smaller than the one she found that one she found has to be a week or less old, good to know if she ever finds it again. “Tribly.” The voice said, it has to be the mom, but how can she hear it?
Peyton stood quietly watching slowly as the rest of the dragon hatched, the 3rd a leaf green back and light green underbelly the blended with the grass, perfect for blending in with the woods. The mother called it Ekko and the next egg to hatch surprisingly had two babies fall out of it, a red and pink one, the mother named the red dragon Lirik and the pink Kari. These names seemed so foreign but beautiful to Peyton. She wondered if it had some sort of deep meaning to dragons, like how humans name their children. It’s amazing how much the dragon cares, or how it actually can care. The next egg exploded and out rolled a chubby little orange dragon with small legs, the mother didn’t need to put away shells because it was everywhere like the egg couldn’t hold it in anymore, Peyton was laughing a little looking for any shell pieces still inside the mother made boundary that she didn’t even catch its name. As the dragons played a little Peyton watched the last egg shake a bit waiting for it to c***k open before the mother noticed her standing there. She had no clue how it hadn’t yet, but she knew she had to leave, she just couldn’t. finally, it did, this one was the most graceful of all, popping its head out 1st and crawling out of the egg no mess nothing just a hold in an otherwise perfect egg, then Peyton saw it, its sky-blue fur and wings, with white on its underbelly like clouds in the sky, it was the dragon she saw earlier, but younger, how?
Tamilla, the woman’s voice said sounding louder in Peyton’s mind than the rest echoing in her ears as the time start flying by. The sun’s rays seemed to spin the shadows on the grass, so fast as the dragons moved around her playing eating sleeping. She watched 6 out of the 7 play games around this small opening, the chubby little orange dragon just rolled around and played that way unable to get up and move. Peyton counted 5 nights before it finally stopped one morning. Tamilla looked about as big as when Peyton found her, she realized what this was. The dragon must be showing her this somehow its Tamilla’s life or all their lives. To prove her theory Peyton walked up to touch the gold dragon, her hand fell right through it like a ghost. Just as she fell to the floor Peyton looked up as a dark showdown past the sun, her view was distorted after that by the dragon standing over her, as the babies crawled under Peyton pulled herself out looking up at the sky as it happened over and over again. In a flash, something red flew past and the mother was tossed into the trees. She’s starting to realize that she isn’t really here even though it feels real.
Peyton’s heart as racing, she wasn’t in danger, but she felt like she was, Tamilla wanted her to feel that way, she knew that. Peyton’s hair flew up with a gust of wind and looked down, the cubby little orange baby was gone, she wanted to throw herself on top of them save them all, but she can’t change the past. Peyton looked up and the mother was off the trees all she saw were flashes of red and gold, burst of fire here and there. Suddenly with a crash to the floor, the gold dragon was bitten and bleeding. She’d never seen a dragon bleed before she didn’t believe it was possible. One loud roar, that Peyton recognized set the babies into a frenzy. The black dragon ran towards the mother, acting like it could fly higher than a bunny could jump off the ground and like it was bigger than a kitten, because the red dragon landed on the ground over the gold dragon. It landed so hard the babies bounced up in the air. Peyton recognizes this big red dragon from the warnings in town, it’s been terrorizing Fells Falls for the past few months. Peyton got a good hard look at the red dragon rather than the blurred photos and videos they have, it was as evil as any dragon would look snarling with fire coming out in small puffs for whatever reason. Before Traquin landed back on the ground, the red dragons sharp claws swatted it into the trees, Peyton had no idea if it even survived that, but the rest didn’t bother to stay or check. Ekko ran off into the tree it was the only one who didn’t crawl, it walked on its two hind legs right into the cover of the trees. Tribly bounce or flew a little onto bushed, a branch and disappeared into the trees. Another roar come from the mother, Peyton looked away from Lirik and Kari for a moment to see the red dragon on top of the gold one and lost the twins. The flashes of gold and red started again when Tamilla finally ran off the green leaves turned red. Peyton couldn’t bear to watch anymore of it as she followed feeling drawn to this little blue dragon. She looked up and saw herself fall down from the dragon tripping her before she opened her eyes in a gasp.
Peyton looked around, Tamilla still sitting on her chest cowering under Peyton’s jacket as she caught her breath and leaned up. Looking around the area Peyton swore that she saw her father for a second but then he was gone. She hit her head a little too hard it seems. Peyton looked at the blue little, cat-bird dragon pop out its head at the sounds of another roar but this time it sounds weak. Peyton saw a red flash through the sky and ducked but she knew it didn’t see her. Tamilla jumped out her jacket and ran towards the opening, Peyton was quick to follow it unsure exactly as to why. They go to the opening and Peyton fell to the floor next to a boulder, she was at least 20 feet from a fully-grown dragon, and even though it seemed nice in her vision, as well as it was dying, she couldn’t help but feel frightened. Peyton took a step back hoping to sneak away before it was too late, and she accidently stepped on a branch.
The golden dragon looked right into Peyton’s, as it leaned up slightly at her, then Peyton saw light in her mouth and realize it was fire starting to come out. She dropped down behind the boulder feeling the heat around her, the fire touched her arm setting she sleeve on fire, she started patting it out just after the dragon stopped blowing fire. Peyton yanked her jacket off stomping on it putting out the fire, forgetting for a small moment how it caught fire. Peyton watched the gold eyes locked on her before she dropped down again tucking herself in more before her arms burn too. It stopped sooner this time and Peyton looked over at Tamilla crawling up onto her shoulder pushing its head into Peyton’s neck until she got up. Slowly Peyton looked up over the rock at the mother dragon pulling Lirik, Kari and Ekko into her bloody body, as she questions Peyton with her eyes. Tamilla pushed her again making Peyton walk out from behind the rock inching towards the dragon.
“Tamilla come here now.” Peyton heard jumping looking around eyes wide open, then she turned to the mother, did the dragon just speak? “Humans are dangerous just come here now!”
“I’m not.” Peyton whispered meaning say loud, but her shock stopped her.
The great dragon’s eyes narrowed on Peyton, was she talking to a dragon right now? “Come closer.” The voice said but Peyton was frozen feeling her breath start to quicken “HUMAN!” dragon shouted sounding like it was in Peyton’s mind making her jump “Come. Closer. Now!”
Peyton slowly stepped forward feeling like she might faint, she must have hit her head harder than she realized or maybe she’s dead. This kind of stuff is absolutely impossible. “How can I hear you?” Peyton whispered as she fell on her knees close enough to the dragon, she could feel its hot breath on her face. It could eat her right now if it wanted to. “Can everyone hear you?”
“Only sorcerers have that ability to talk to my kind or that is the rumor it has been centuries since any have tried. I’ve never gotten close enough to any human to know for sure, how many dragons have you killed?”
“None and I’m no sorcerer.” Peyton said as the all four babies came up to her letting her hold them all at once.
“Sorcerer or not you seem to win trust freely.” Its eyes narrowed again and Peyton felt it sniff her pulling her hair up towards its nose, her nose. “I can smell the magic in your child.”
“Impossible.” Peyton whispered to herself really, but the dragon’s reaction made her fall back and jump to her feet. Every movement seemed to be painful for it. “I’m sorry I’m not used to nice dragons I didn’t mean to jump.”
“Your kind isn’t like you, your different, special.” she said sounding weaker suddenly Peyton’s heart reached out to her. “Why didn’t you kill her? Anyone else would have, they would have killed me and my children here as well, yet you hold them.”
“Because,” Peyton started reaching her hand out petting its head feeling her heard scales and hot blood, “I’m not one to kick anything while its down and I didn’t see the point in harming anything as innocent as you all seem.”
“You will change the world girl.”
“Peyton.” She said surprised at how smooth her golden scales were. “My name is Peyton.”
“Peyton, swear to me that you will protect them.”
“With my life.” She said feeling a tear slide down her cheek. She just swore her life for theirs a group of dragons, and she doesn’t regret anything. They are about to be orphans, lose their mother like she lost hers and they need to be protected.
“Children, come here please.” They looked up at Peyton and crawled off her surrounding her face, blood on their colorful fur. Peyton sat back unsure what to do this goodbye wasn’t for her it was for them. “Peyton is going to take care of you now, listen to her and trust her choices. Let your hearts be as pure and kind as hers, when the day comes that you can protect her more than she can you, do it. She’s our family now, understood?”
They all nodded their heads, for a group of what looked like pets Peyton was slightly thrown off by their intelligence. She shouldn’t be, not anymore. They stood silent for a moment when Peyton felt a large gust of wind come out, her final breath blowing her hair back, nothing else came out after that. The babies all crawled up onto her face, trying to wake her up maybe but Peyton just sat there and for a moment she saw her mother laying on the field, blood coming out small holes changing the white dress red soaking the grass. She had to turn and look away from it, it wasn’t real, but it felt that way, that’s how the babies see it.
Peyton got up going to the center of the field where the babies were in the vision. She made a promise so until she finds them dead, she is going to find the last two babies to keep them safe. The closest one would be Tribly from here, Peyton went to the tree it disappeared in, looking up for any sign of a purple dragon. Unable to see past the heavy full leaves Peyton slung her bow over her shoulder grabbing the branches pulling herself up into the tree. Right inside the cover of leaves Peyton found it, the large wings that let it fly before all of them were stuck in the branches, the small little cat body dangling in the air. When Peyton reached for Tribly it started to freak out its legs moving like it was running in midair, Peyton reached for it stroking its head before freeing the wings. Once it fell into her arms Peyton felt it like Tamilla, this one was a girl as well. There wasn’t a story to show, just a feeling. The other all came so fast at once she didn’t even notice they told her who they were like Tamilla did, somehow. Ekko was a boy as well as Lirik, surprisingly the twins jammed in one egg were two separate genders. None of them talked like the mom did or how Tamilla did but they did show her something about them, it was amazing.
They were all waiting just below the tree as Peyton hopped down with Tribly putting her down. All he babied put their face on hers like kittens nuzzling each other and then Tribly dropped her head. Did they just show her the mother like Tamilla showed Peyton her life? Now wasn’t the time to ask that, Traquin is the most injured of them all if it’s still alive and Peyton needed to find it. She went back into the center and ran over to the mom wanting to retrace the steps, but it all happened so fast. The baby ran over then got swatted but Peyton couldn’t remember for a short moment if it was to the right or left. Peyton closed her eyes wishing it wasn’t so hectic and then remembered the right claw coming hard, the baby went left and hit the tree for sure. Peyton ran seeing the small blood splash on the tree then she looked down at the same think on the floor but no dragon. As looked to her right she noticed small dropped on the green grass, Peyton followed the dragons all following behind her. The broken branches and the bend grass was clear that it landed here but it’s not here anymore there was a slight trail that she followed deep into the woods. When the trail went, dry Peyton looked around for anything it could have crawled on but there was nothing. Peyton looked ahead at the tree right in front of her, the bush around it seemed small but these babies were small too, she got on her knees reaching towards the leaves ready to look inside. Just as she touched it, she felt something sharp cut her hand before it pulled its tail Peyton saw the black fur, despite her cut hand she reached in blindly again grabbing just below its wins. His spikes down his back cut her palm a little and then he swung his tail up lodging in her hand again as she pulled him out.
The rest of the dragons ran up to them stopping Traquin from cutting her hand yet again. She put him down letting them put their heads on his, she noticed his was staying off his front left paw and his right wing looked crooked compared to the rest. How is she going to fix that?
Doyle watched her sit in the field with the little dragons in complete awe, what on earth is she doing? Peyton scooped up the one that she just found and headed back towards the house, she isn’t, is she? His daughter is bringing dragons into their house, he ran home quick letting her collect her catch for the day all by herself. He got inside and hid waiting just outside her room where she wouldn’t see him just to make sure it was real. No one knows he’s even up yet, they haven’t dared wake him on days like this since Lily. He can hear Nora’s orders flying like crazy, he’d really better help, but he has to see it for himself before he helps. Just has to wait until she comes home with or without the dragons.
Peyton looked around, lucky for her they live just at the edge of the woods, she was about to walk in letting them follow behind her when she realized anyone could be by the door or see her as they follow behind. She looked into her window smiling at her closed door, she looked around quickly then pulled the screen off her window sliding it open as quietly as she could. Tribly bounce up, her body dangling under the massive wings before falling. She can only get a few inches off the floor and can’t hold it. Peyton helped her into the window as Lirik and Kari climbed the wall falling in with a small crash, hopefully the crash in the kitchen cover the sound. Ekko and Tamilla allowed her to put them in gently. Traquin was still bleeding a little and Peyton didn’t want to explain blood on her floor, so she put him in her bag asking him to be quiet as she snuck into the house. She looked in and saw no one good thing too because Traquin stuck his head out at the smell of food, how is she going to train them?
Peyton slid into her room pushing the small dragons back closing the door behind her quickly. She ran into her closet looking for anything she could put Traquin on that won’t be missed when she tosses it out after. She looked up and found black sheets at the top of her walk-in closet, needing to jump to get ahold of it. As soon as she grabbed it everything fell from that shelf, she couldn’t see any of the sheets on top of it. She heard a knock at her door making her jump, she bent down pushing the sheets into the closet with the dragons, before closing the door behind her.
“Hey sweetheart, are you home?” She heard her dads voice ask as he opened the door, Peyton stood in the doorway pulling her injured hand behind the door making sure to block “I heard a crashing noise.”
“Yes, I just got home. Sorry to scare you I was reaching for something in my closet and made a small mess I don’t want you to see it. “She said closing the door a little more. “It’s bad. Tell Nora I’ll be out in a little bit. Oh yeah!” she said closing the door grabbing her bag seeing the door nod of her closet jiggling shaking her head before rushing back to her dad, reaching t bag out to him. “Give this to her she will need it for today, I have to clean up.”
“Big catch today,” he said lifting the bag up and down, “anything interesting happen while you were out there?” Her dad asked like he was digging for something, can her know? No impossible, she just smiled and shook her head hoping it was believable, she can’t lie to him he’s too good.” Okay? Well I will see you out there.”
Peyton whipped around closing the door just as the baby dragons fell out of her closet in a crash. She quickly gathered her clean clothes asking them to stay quietly in her room while she showered. From the corner of her eyes she saw Hunter look at her, she just lifted her towel waving slightly for him to stay and closed to door locking it behind her.
Peyton is the worse liar in the world when it comes to him or her mother when she was here, he’s felt lucky about that not that Peyton ever lies. This was the 1st time he can remember since she was 4 and back then she just lied about eating a cookie. He took out his spare key making sure no one was paying attention to him as he unlocked Peyton’s door. Doyle took a deep breath before poked his head into her room just to see if he was right. Doyle twisted the nob slowly and quietly, peaking through a c***k seeing the colorful little beast playing on the floor closing the door immediately. Now would be a bad time to lose trust in Peyton’s instincts, if she brought them here, she knows it’s save, that would be the last time he calls them beast but it won’t be the last time he asked Peyton about it. He needs to understand why she brought them in after yesterday’s events she should know how dangerous they can be.
Peyton tossed her clothes in the basket walking past her room listening for them before rushing out to help. Peyton looked around the room then at the clock, weird Hutch and Rebecca are normally here by now to help. Mr. and Mrs. Masterson always send them straight over, must be because he works for the patrol and he has to be there with them.
“The patrol heads home an hour or two after they’ve cleared the town.” Her father said not even looking at her, how did he even know? “They are most likely sleeping in after a busy night.”
He didn’t sound like he believed it, really, she thought but Peyton knew that Hunter needed to hear that, he seemed as happy as ever, believing it completely. Peyton reached for a bowl to start making cookie dough when Dr. Nikos grabbed her wrist, Peyton closed her hand forgetting about Traquin’s cuts until now.
“What happened?” he asked as she pulled her hand back
“I didn’t see a rose bush my hand brushed inside the thorns.” She said hoping it sounded believable
“Bit big for rose thorns sweetheart.” Her dad said again still looking at the pot he was stirring instead of her hand. “Better have Cameron check that out before you get blood in the food, also before that gets infected by whatever was in the bush.”
At that Nora popped her head up and started to push them into Dr. Nikos’ small home office closing the door behind them, like her hand would explode and get blood all over the place any second.
“She gets worked up on days like this.” He said going to the cabinets pulling out a bunch of stuff. “If she said no to the town make it a potluck instead it wouldn’t happen. So, tell me Peyton how did it cut you, your dad was right it looks deep and bigger than normal rose thorns.” He stopped and looked at her reaching for his glasses, “does it ever scare you when he does that without looking?” He went back to looking at her hand after sliding his glasses on “it always used to scare me growing up, like he was 10 steps ahead constantly.”
“He is very observant without seeming to be, but I guess I’m used to it, don’t know anything else.” Peyton lied it always makes her wonder, always has even before they moved in and saw how a normal dad like Dr. Nikos is. Then it hit her, he is a doctor maybe he can fix Traquin or tell her how. “So, you work on humans, but do you know about animals?”
“Some, not a lot why?” He asked and she came up with some lie about a bird in the woods broke its wing and a fox broke its leg. Her story stopped when he came up with a needle “Do you want a numbing shot or just do the stiches? Sorry to interrupt your questions.” Peyton just shook her head confused does he know she wants to help and then he lifted the needle up questioning her with his eyes. Peyton shook her head she doesn’t want to have Nora freaking out that Peyton can’t help. “Well I’m not a vet, he said cleaning off her hand, “but a broken leg is a broken leg you would have want to put it back in place and put a cast on. If you wanted to save a fox in the woods and it let you, I’d use wood and vines maybe, or you could have taken it into a shelter that can care for it. The bird’s wing I wouldn’t know where to start sadly. Don’t you just hunt and bring it in anyway?”
“Well normally but I can’t bring myself to kill anything so broken and helpless on the hunt it’s different I guess.” She said wondering if it was the right way to phrase that.
“You’re taking these stiches like a champ.” He noted completely doping it, her dad would have pressed on asked more but Dr. Nikos always believes her so completely, he’s so gullible.
By the time, they finished it was 3 hours before the funeral, Nora gets hectic and crazy the last few hours, sending the boys to get desserts left at the shop or drop off the food, that won’t fit in the house anymore, at the school. At least that meant Hunter was gone not trying to act all weird like yesterday in front of her dad or his parents. Sadly, without Hutch and Rebecca it seemed crazier today, but they will have to get used to that at this time the dragon patrol officers are getting ready to pay their respects early, set up the shrines. Rebecca won’t come without him, so they need to get used to funeral days like this, Hutch won’t be able to help them anymore.
