The Last Fox

Chapter 9

AROURA

I never want to leave this bed, it was laying on a cloud. Dominic laid on his back breathing heavy, I snuggled up and started kissing his neck.

“Your going to kill me foxy, I don’t know how you have so much energy.”

I giggled, I nestled into his side, I could use a small nap.

I was just about to drift off when Dom’s phone went off.

Dominic growled

“Hello.... Are you serious?...... Ok I’ll be right there.”

He jumped out of the bed and quickly got dressed

“What’s wrong?”

I asked sitting up

“Um.... Nothing just some Alpha business I have to take care of real quick.”

I started to make my way off the bed

“I’ll come with you then.”

He quickly snapped his head to me

“No!”

I stopped and looked at him confused, did he just yell at me?

“I mean, you stay here and take a nap. I’ll be back soon to pick you up, we can take a shower together then get ready to go to your parents. Ok?”

He walked over and put his arms around my waist, he was hiding something

“Ok, don’t be long.”

I said looking confused

He gave me a kiss

“I love you.”

I looked in his eyes and knew he meant that

“I love you too.”

He headed for the door, as soon as I saw him get in his car I went into fox form and ran down the stairs, I stayed out of sight of his car and far enough away he didn’t smell me.

He was driving like a bat out of hell

Where is he going

I followed him for about 15 minutes, he stopped at a small white building outside of town. I saw Carlys car and her fathers, along with Jaces. I saw another car I did not recognize. Dom ran inside, the door was slowly closing, I darted to the door sliding in before it closed. I kept low and far enough that he didn’t smell me, I looked around it looked like and old clinic. He walked into a room with boxes everywhere, in the middle of the room everyone was standing around a bed with someone hooked up to machines.

“Where did you find him?”

Dom asked

“I found him on the boarder, I found him like this. It looks like he was trampled my elephants.”

Jace said with seriousness

“Has he said anything yet?”

The next voice was Dr. Mendoza

“He’s been in and out, it doesn’t look good. The damage is so severe he can’t heal fast enough.”

I tried to see who they were talking about, their face was just one b****y mess.

“He did ask about Aroura and if she was safe when I found him before he passed out.”

Said Jace

I leaned closer to try and see who they were talking about when the boxes fell over

CRASH

Everyone jumped to defensive mood, they saw me and relaxed.

I walked over I shifted, Jaces father gave me his sweatshirt and Dr. Mendoza handed me a pair of srub pants.

I got dressed

“What are you doing here?”

Dom asked a hint of anger in his voice

“Well as the new Luna I feel I should be included in things.”

I said giving the anger right back

I walked up to the person in the bed, it was Brian or at lease what was left of him. He was just one b****y mess, he had gashes all over like he was mauled by a hundred lion’s.

“Brian, wh... what happened to him?”

I asked shocked

Everyone shook their heads

“We don’t know, I was out doing a quick patrol and I found him like this on the boarder.”

Jace told me

A tear ran down my cheek

“Is he going to make it?”

I said to Dr. Mendoza

She looked grave, she shook her head.

Brian slowly moved moaning in pain,

“Aroura, mu... must keep he...her safe.”

I held his hand

“Ssshhh, it’s ok.”

I said

He slowly turned his head to look at me

“H...hey foxy..... I...I’m so s...sorry. I n...never... m...”

He stared to cough tightening his grab on my hand, he was hurting.

“Sshhh ssshhh, it’s ok. It was the haze you had no control, I forgive you Brian.”

I gave him a kiss on the head to show I meant it

He smiled the best he could

“Y... you are n.... not safe h...here. M...Micheal kno...knows your a...alive. I d..didn’t tell him b...but he got i... inside of m..my head. He w...wants your b...b...blood to c...control all l...life. He’s b...been looking for y..you e..ever since t..the night h..he killed a..all the f...foxes.”

I looked at him in shock, Alpha Micheal was the one who killed all the foxes.

“Why does he want my blood?”

He winched

“S...something about y..your blood I...is special and I...if he d...drinks y...your blood h..he can c...control all li....life even th...the Goddess.”

His body was shaking

I looked at Dr. Mendoza

*Can you at lease give him something for the pain, so he doesn’t have to suffer before he....*

I could finish the thought, tears were running down, she nodded and got something and put it in his iv.

He started to relax

“That f...feels better, f...foxy?”

I held his hand tighter

“I’m here, just relax. Your going to be ok.”

He chuckled lightly

“Yo....your a terrible l...liar for a f...fox. I’m so..sorry for t...the way I t...treated you. The A...Alpha told u...us to never sp...speak of t...the night t...they br...brought you h...home. I didn’t k....know why, I t...though he j...just wanted a p...pet for h...his son. You k...know I’ve a...alway had a l...little crush o...on you.”

He smiled then he just stopped breathing.

I couldn’t hold back the tears that flooded my face, I kissed his forehead before I closed his eyes.

“Did you know?”

I growled, feeling the anger rage inside me.

“Aroura....”

I turned around with my fangs out,

“Did you know Micheal wiped out my whole race!”

Dom’s face was filled with pain

“Yes, I knew Micheal killed all the foxes. But we didn’t know why so that’s why he kept you hidden.”

CRACK

I swung a right hook to his face, knocking him to his knees.

“Why didn’t you tell me?!”

Tears and anger filling my face

Dom rubbed his chin and stood

“Father thought it would have been best you didn’t know, he feared you would go looking for him. We still don’t know why he did it till now, Brian said he wants your blood to control all life.”

I shook my head

“You should have told me, I had the right know who destroyed my life.”

He went to go reach for me but I pulled away, I shifted and ran out of the building.

I ran to the woods, I didn’t know where I was going I just ran. I couldn’t believe Dom knew who killed my race and never once told me, I don’t care if it was to keep me safe I had the right to know. I just kept running for what seemed like 45 minutes, I stopped when I can to a clearing. It looked like an old little town, it had a few houses and 2-3 shops. The building were old and decaying, a few of them had collapsed roofs. It was a little spooky like a ghost town, it clearly was abandoned for a few years now. I quietly walked about, then I came to one house that was bigger then the rest. The windows were smashed and the roof was half collapsed, something about it drew me in. I walked though the front door, the smell of mold and woodrot. The stairs were half collapsed, luckily I’m light on my feet, I climbed up to the top. I made my way into one room, there was a dirty broken bassinet in the corner and a pile of small bones next to it. I looked around and saw a dusty old picture, it was of a family, probably the ones who live here. It was a mother, father, son and a small baby.

I took my paw to clear the dirt to see the small baby was me, a little pale baby with silver hair and crystal eyes.

*Welcome home, White Fox*

I turn my head to the door to see a big grey wolf.

DOMINIC

For a little fox she punched hard, the spot where she hit me still hurt.

We stood around Brian’s died body

“This was pinned to his skin when I found him, it had your name on it.”

Jace told me handing me a blood soaked envelope.

I opened it

Hello Dom, I hear you have something I want and have had it for years. I would like it back, I have your father and as of now he is alive and well. You have 24 hours to bring me the White Fox or I’ll start sending you pieces of your father back to you. Then I’ll wipe out your whole pack till I get what I want, the clock is ticking little Alpha Boy.

Anger filled me

“He has my father and if I don’t give him Aroura he’s going to kill my father and the whole pack.”

Carly stood tall

“We have to fight him, we can’t let him kill your father but we also can’t hand him Aroura. We have no choice but to fight him.”

Jaces father scoffed

“We can’t fight him, he’s has unstoppable strength, no one can defeat him.”

The Alpha King

I remembered what the Goddess told me, Aroura would make me the Alpha King making me able to stop the tyrant, she was speaking of Micheal.

“I can.”

I looked as everyone, they just stared at me confused

“What do you mean you can? No one can defeat him he was supposed to be the chosen one before he went mad with power.”

Said Jaces father

I stood tall

“The Goddess came to me saying the Arctic Fox, Aroura, chose me. And then when we completed our bond I will be the Alpha King making me the most powerful creature, she said I’d be strong enough to stop Micheal.”

They all looked at me like was crazy

“The Goddess came to you and told you this?”

Dr. Mendoza said in the back breaking the silence, I nodded.

She cleared her throat

“Then you need to fulfill your destiny then.”

I nodded, I had to find Aroura and put her somewhere safe till I defeat Micheal.

“We will help you, we can keep Micheals pack at bay while you take him out. We’ll get the packs strongest warriors together and wait for your call.”

Jace said standing tall

I nodded

“First I have to find Aroura and take her to her parents house so she’ll be safe, get the pack ready I’ll be back as soon as I can.”

They nodded and off they went.

It was just me and Dr. Mendoza

“I’ll take care of Brian’s body and prep the clinic and staff it to full capacity, we’re going to need it.”

I nodded

“Thank you.”

I headed outside to try and catch Aroura’s scent, I found it heading into the woods, I shifted and followed it.
