I shouldn't have been listening to them but it caught my attention and I couldn't stop myself. Scarlett's dad saw me ahead and he knew that I was just behind them, maybe a few feet away. I don't know if he purposely did this for me to hear their conversation or what. But I am pleased that he talked about it to her.
The moment she said that she didn't want to marry me, my heart ripped into pieces. I am ready to propose. I know I have my chances and even if chances are, I still want to push my luck.
