Patrick frowned and put Amber down. He said impatiently, "I'm fine."
Then, he glared at Nick and said, "What do you want from Sophia?" When Patrick thought of the schemes that could be behind the crime, his gaze became hostile.
Nick, unlike Amber's killer in her past life, was freaking out. He stammered, "She and I were from the same town. She is successful now, yet she treats me as a stranger."
Patrick did not expect Nick to say that. It would be a waste of time to figure out Nick's motives.
"Send him to the police station, and call an ambulance."
"Yes, Mr. Anderson."
Amber thought it would be a tough fight. She was relieved that Patrick got himself involved.
She looked uneasy. Patrick entered the room, looking for Sophia.
As expected, there was a secret room. Sophia was found in
