Thankfully I was able to sleep most of the trip. When we arrived it was late but I felt wide awake. I was practically vibrating in the taxi.
“Baby, take a breath. You’re making me anxious.”
I blushed. “Sorry, I’m just so excited. I’ve never been on a vacation before.”
His eyes softened and he squeezed my thigh. “We have many more vacations in the future sweetheart.”
I did love the thought about him seeing us in the future, because frankly I did too. And I never thought I’d find that. We had been through a lot and were still standing strong. Maybe I could have a happy future after all.
