Adeline tapped with her fingers on the binding of the book she was trying to read, realizing all too well she had been staring at the ceiling of Kaden’s bedroom. She had asked Vella earlier about her chambers, but the Head Maid had said she was under strict instructions to have her stay in Kaden’s room. It would have been awkward enough to share a room under normal circumstances, but after what had happened earlier, she felt like she might die from hyperventilating.
