Adeline smiled, swaying slowly left and right as she rocked the baby in her arms, watching her coo quietly in her sleep. Her maids had finished getting her ready faster than she expected, so after spending some time pacing nervously in her room, she decided to visit the little girl. With everything going on, it had been a few days since she last saw her, but the little girl hadn’t forgotten her. It was still bizarre to communicate with her through thoughts, but at least she managed to tell her they would be seeing her father and trying to bring him to her. The little girl got unexpectedly excited at the news but soon after that drifted into sleep, her mind flooding with happy emotions and a hint of sadness as images of a man with dark skin and a big smile kept flashing in her mind.
