Kaden rubbed his forehead, opening his eyes and locking them on the small figure in his bed. It hadn’t been long since she had fallen asleep and the dawn was fast approaching judging by the lightening sky outside the window. His own body refused to settle, mind so busy dealing with all the emotions rampaging inside of him to even think about sleep. But having her in his line of sight and seeing she was fine calmed him. It wasn’t the rejection that had thrown him off, he didn’t expect her to accept him so quickly with her stubborn nature and past that made her so mistrustful and fearful.
