My week passed like a whirlwind for me. Many things happened in the days that followed. I felt exhausted with the activities we were doing in class, but that wasn’t a reason for me to give up on the new life I’m facing right now.
It seems like everything in this unusual world agrees with me. Everything I wanted to happen was coming true. It seems like I almost think I have power while I am here on this world. I can clearly see my friend's future. Some of them may have had a horrible accident, while the others look like they may have died because of old age. I'm not staring into the eyes of Celeste and Kevin because it seems like I can't afford to see them suffer in the future.
I already know Lawrence’s future. If he survives the accident that I visualized, he will be an architect in the future. It seems like I need to stop myself from ruining his plate examples because I'm sure this is the only thing that will be his way to get into the opportunity that he wants to get.
It seems like I am the hindrance to his beautiful future based on what I visualized when I faced him. I can clearly see the accident that will happen in the next two years to him. It's still a bit far, but at least I don't have to be complacent about the accident that will happen to him.
I'm not powerful and I don't even have the power to make him feel safe. All I could do was take a glance at his future, and that thing wouldn't help me by the time that day came. All I can do is to keep him away from those places near the freeway, because that is the place where I saw the accident that may occur in the future.
I can't ignore everything because I can't handle my conscience when someone gets hurt if I can warn them before it happens.
I can't save him, but I can still warn him!
I can warn him to be careful as always, or I can warn him to stay away from places like the woods, right?
I stopped walking because I thought that, and maybe that was the reason why Celeste bumped into me. I heard her grunt, which made me chuckle, and made her even more irritated because of what I did.
"Instead of apologizing to me, you even have the guts to chuckle!" she hissed while touching her pointed nose that I hit. "I really hate you for doing this to me, Charmaine!"
"Isn't it normal, Celeste?" I asked, annoying her as she looked even more irritated. "Your nose is a complete definition of perfection. You don't have to make it more perfect."
"I need to take care of it because it is the only treasure I have in my face!" she said, making me laugh even harder. "You don't know how much it costs to have rhinoplasty surgery."
My eyes widened because of what she said. She proudly stood up on my side while I remained looking at her, which made her smile even wider.
"You undergo rhinoplasty?" I asked, a bit startled, which made her laugh while she pinched my waist. "Are you serious, Celeste?"
"Of course not!" she said before we continued walking upstairs. "My pointed nose is inborn. I did not accept rhinoplasty as what they suggested. They were envious because my nose looked like a cone. It was perfect. "
I nodded. "That's good though. Don't spend too much money on wasting your face. "
We stopped walking when we finally arrived in front of our class. She smiled widely at me, while I continued to smile at her.
"It seems like before, you were repeatedly suggesting to me that I agree with the idea of others undergoing a nose job," she said while looking at me. "Do you accept that I'm more than prettier than you?"
"Are you kidding me?" I hissed.
She prompted me to enter the class while laughing before she turned her back on me and entered their class. I did nothing but to sigh heavily before I did what she said. Just like usual, I went inside our class.
I was amazed when I didn't see the traces of Kevin, so I'm sure he hasn't arrived yet. This is the first time I was ahead of him in time because he was always early to attend our class. I took advantage of Kevin’s absence to head outside to hang out on the railings and watch the students rush today.
I spent a few minutes watching them before I felt the lingering presence of a man by my side. I was sure it was one of my classmates, so I never left the railings.
"Finally, I saw you standing here once again, "a familiar voice spoke beside me.
I felt my heart beating faster than usual when I realized who it was. I slowly looked at him and when I saw Lawrence imitating my posture, I deliberately left leaning on the railings just like what I did earlier.
He looked at me, perplexed by what I had done, while I stood by his side, feeling nervous.
"I didn't feel you come near me…" I said as if I was still groping for what I wanted to convey to him.
He shook without emotion, which made me shut my mouth. "I approached the railings, not you," he corrected.
I slowly nodded and seemed embarrassed by what he said before I decided to step back as he turned to me again. I saw a shock in his eyes, but his confusion about what I did seemed to prevail.
"That's good," I said before turning away from him. "Why do I feel like he's no longer interested in you, Charmaine?" I whispered to myself before entering the class and stayed in my usual seat.
Just a few minutes later, Kevin came in with his blanket covering his whole face, which made me lift my eyebrows because of confusement with what he was up to now. From where I was, I could see the trembling of his body that seemed to be getting cold because of the temperature of the room.
"What happened to you?" My classmate asked him. He just smiled before he shook his head.
He slowly stepped closer to me before he sat himself on my side. I did nothing but look at him, a bit confused about what he was planning right now.
"Is there a problem, Kev?" I asked him as he shook. "You seem weird for acting like that. It doesn't suit you. "
"Why?" he chuckled before removing the blanket from his eyes. "Are you worried for me?"
"Of course I am!" I replied, which made his smile grow even wider than usual. "You were my friend. You and Celeste are my friends. It's normal for me to worry about you, isn't it?"
He shook his head, then turned away from me and folded the blanket he had used to cover his face behind his desk earlier. I felt my eyes widen when I saw the bruises on the side of his eye. I quickly covered his face with both of my hands to examine the wounds I saw. He was slightly stunned because of what I did, but he just remained silent while staring at me.
"Where did you get this?" I asked, a bit tense because of what I saw in him. "Who the hell did this to you?"
He chuckled because of my seriousness, but I remained in my position and my reaction in front of him. When he finished chuckling, he avoided looking at me before I felt his hand hold my hands. He slowly removed it from his face before he sighed heavily.
"I got the wrong answer to daddy, that's why he punished me," he said before he shrugged. "I accidentally passed by the newly opened cafe outside the school and I saw their best-selling buns, so I suddenly remembered your cupcakes." He changed the subject, which made me shut my mouth. "It seems like you haven't baked pastries for a long time. When will you bake for me again?"
I sighed. "When the bruises on your face have healed."
He was shocked by what I said, but soon he just laughed again. Celeste couldn’t help but burst into laughter when she saw the bruises on Kevin’s face when we met in the cafeteria during our lunch break that day. They remained talking about random stuff, but I remained silent. They didn't notice my silence, so I didn't bother them anymore when they teased each other.
"Punched him back so that you could get your revenge on him when he hits you!" Celeste suggested something, which made me roll my eyes. "Why it is so hard for you to fight every time someone hurts you? You easily give up on the fight even though I can clearly see that you are very eager to fight them."
"I don't want to hurt my father, Celeste. If you can hurt your mother, then I can't fight with my father either, "he said as I nodded. "I respect them because I was here because of them. I also can't be separated from them because I can't be alone without them by my side."
"You're being too complacent about them by hurting you, Kev," Celeste said while rolling her eyes because of so much irritation. "It's also not bad if you speak out against them. What if they want to kill you while you're sleeping? What are you going to do? Let them kill you? You're so stupid."
I watched them for a while as I listened to them exchange conversations with each other. It seems like Kevin is the son who loves to respect his parents, while Celeste, on the other hand, looks like she is the rebellious one in their family.
They looked like an angel and demon who are now busy seducing the human between the two of them. Celeste continues to incite his parents to hurt them, while Kevin looks like he doesn't want to follow her because he has his own decision regarding this matter.
It seems like Celeste is looking for a fight while Kevin looks like he is looking for peace between him and his parents.
A small smile plastered on my lips as I looked at them. If I were to ask, it would be better for the two of them if they would have a chance to prove to each other their feelings if there is any hope between the two of them. Maybe I'm one of those who will be happy if they fall in love with each other. I am the one who will be happy if they both have a relationship.
If in the real world, falling into your friend's exes is a big issue, I think here in the unusual world there is nothing wrong with that. I will never be upset if Celeste falls for Kevin, or likewise. Maybe I'll be even happier when that happens.
"I can handle my problems with my parents, Celeste," Kevin hissed before he leaned on his seat. "I don't need your suggestions."
"That was my suggestion because I care about you, stupid!" Celeste said while pointing at him, which made Kevin chuckle a bit. "You seemed like you're still proud of how you look. I won't be surprised when I hear that your own parents baked you in the oven. "
I laughed at what Celeste said, causing them to turn to me. A ghost of a smile plastered on his lips, while Celeste looked annoyed at what I did in the middle of her speech.
"Be careful when you tease each other," I said nonchalantly, raising their eyebrows. "You may not realize that you are falling deeper without realizing it."
"Yuck!" Kevin commented, while Celeste looked horrified because of what I said.
"Enough of your stupid predictions, Charmaine," Celeste pleaded as I laughed.
When we finished lunch, we went back to our classes as well. Celeste was disgusted looking at Kevin while he did nothing but make faces at her. Our day didn't end without them getting together either because when the time came for our class to end for that day, they joked and teased each other again. Sometimes I like to immerse myself in their conversation, but instead of doing it, I remained silent.
Celeste already told me that I was the one who often initiated all the fights in our class before. I can’t deny that all the people here love me compared to the reality of where I am supposed to be. I have friends at school and parents waiting for me at home. I don't have to work to save money because my parents will take care of my tuition.
I felt love in this place and I can't deny the fact that I'm happier here compared to reality.
I wish I could never go back to the world where I am supposed to be. I will never exchange the things I have in this world for the piece of love I received in reality.
