The Alpha's Niece and Her Mate

Chapter 6

The week went by so fast before I knew it it was saturday. The day of my party. I hate parties. And I really hate surprises. But I told my aunt and uncle I would have one because it's only right because my mom and dad weren't here to give me one. I wish they were here with me. I haven't had any more nightmares over the last week thank  god.

I made my way down for breakfast to find my favorite foods. There were eggs, bacon , ham and french toast in so many veridies. Orange juice and coffee in different flavors. I was so shocked and happy that I didn't know what to do at first. My aunt walked up and asked if I liked it. “Oh yes thank you, but it's too much. You shouldn't have gone to all the trouble to have my favorite foods and coffee.” I told her.

“Yes we did. And it's not a problem or trouble to do this for you. We love you and want this day to be special.” she says. “Now go eat and after go enjoy the grounds. So to the lake and swim or something by the time you get back your party will be already.” she tells me. As soon as I sit down Renee comes in and wishes me a happy birthday. 

I tell her “Thank you. Do you want to go to the lake or something? We can go tan and swim before we have to get ready for the party.” “Hell yeah, is it ok if I ask Adam to come along?” “sure the more the merrier” 

We go get ready and head out.  As we walk out I smell the most mouth watering scent. Like fresh cut grass after a spring rain. I look around but I don't see anyone. So I just shrug and walk out of the house. As we get in the car I see Conor watching me. 

We get to the lake and see a few people around. We found a nice spot. Adam heads into the water and we girls so lay in the grass as we lay there soaking up the sun I smell that sweet smell again. “Renee do you smell that?” I ask. “Smell what?” she asks. “It smells like fresh grass after a spring rain.” I told her. She just looks at me. “I don't smell it. Maybe you are smelling your mate.” she tells me. 

“Wouldn't that be great if you find him before your party?” she asks. “I didn't know it might be wired at first. I don't know anyone here but u Adam, my aunt and uncle and conor. I haven't really talked to anyone or made friends.” I answered her back. “We will see who it is and what happens.” she says.

As we are talking we hear screaming. We look out on the water and see Conor throwing maddison around. God can't get a break from her and her crap. Then the next thing I know the wind blows over the lake and I smell him. I look at Conor and say mate in a whisper. Renee heard me though. “Oh my god.” I hear her whisper. “Can we leave? I

Don't want to watch this anymore.” I turn to her and say. “Yeah let me just go grab Adam while you pack up our stuff. Ok?” she asks. 

I nod my head. I can't speak. I feel like my heart is breaking in a million pieces. I pack up and don't look his way again but I can feel his eyes on me the whole time. When Adam comes up he asks if I'm ok. Yeah I'm great. I just found out who my soulmate is and who fate paired me with and he is with someone else I wanna say but I can't speak. I am afraid that if I do , I'll cry. And I won't shed tears when he can see my pain. So I nod my head.

We leave and head home. When we get there I head straight to my room. When I walk in there is a box on my bed. It's a present for me. I can smell his scent on it so I know who it is from. I open it and find a silver wolf necklace with emeralds for eyes. And a note that says 

Please wear this tonight. I can't wait to see you at your party. Happy birthday.

At that point I start to tear up. I put the gift on the bedside table and went to my ensuite bathroom. I start the shower get undressed and step under the water. As soon as the water hits my body I start to cry. And as I wash my hair and body I keep crying. I don't stop till the water starts to get cold. Then I dry off and look in the mirror. I look like crap and on my birthday too. 

My eyes are red and puffy. I put on a face mask and put on my robe and go lay on my bed. Within a few minutes I'm feeling better. I go remove my mask and take another look. I look better than I did . My eyes aren't so red and puffy now. I go to my closet and I find a nice top and leggings to wear. I then go do my hair and makeup. 

I'm almost ready and I hear a knock on my door. I went to open it. And Renee is there. She comes in and we sit there talking about earlier today. “What are you going to do?” she asks. “I don't know. I don't want to be the reason that they break up and he isn't happy. I hate to think that I have been the reason that anyone is unhappy. No matter what. It would hurt but i'll let him go.'' I told her.

She saw the gift and looked at it with a knowing look in her eyes. She explains that after the party I should have my first shift when the moon is high. She also explains that when it starts it will hurt like hell. The first time is the worst. But she tells me that she will be there and that Alpha and Luna will be there. 

I put on the necklace and my black flats then head out of my room. As we walk down the stairs I feel his eyes on me. But when I look at him he has an arm around madison. He looks at my neck and smirks. He is so sexy when he does that. I can't help but smile and nod a thank you to him.
