Selene's POV
It was silent as I walked back. The guards didn't return me to the same room. I noticed that immediately. The corridors twisted differently this time, narrowing before opening into a part of the court that felt less grand. It was still cold and polished, but quieter, with fewer eyes, or maybe just better hidden ones.
They stopped in front of another door without offering any explanation. One of them opened it and stepped aside.
