I didn't stay for long.
The moment Mara left, I moved before the court could turn what had just happened into something else. I wasn't interested in waiting for their conclusions or their decisions. I had already seen enough to understand that if I stood there any longer, I would be placed back into a position I didn't choose.
So I walked out and no one stopped me.
No one called me back, no one questioned it, and that alone made me understand they were already adjusting. Already watching in a different way.
The corridor outside was quiet, the sound of the court gone behind closed doors, but what had changed in that room hadn't disappeared. It wasn't something I had left behind.
