Selene's POV
No one called me to train.
At first, I thought maybe I had missed the summons.
Maybe Rowan had come while I was asleep, or maybe the timing had changed and no one thought to tell me.
But as the morning stretched into afternoon and no one came, the silence around it began to feel deliberate.
I stood near the window of my room, staring down into the open courtyard below where movement carried on like normal. Servants crossed the stone paths with lowered heads. Members of the court passed in groups or alone, speaking quietly, moving with purpose.
Everything looked the same.
But none of it felt the same.
Something had changed after yesterday.
Not just in the training hall.
Everywhere.
And now I could feel it in the emptiness around me.
