Xavier couldn’t help but admire the figure before him. It had been 5 years since he last saw her. She looked better than ever. She had eyes he’d never seen before. He had always wondered if they were more on the blue side or were they completely purple. They were the type that would always shine in the sunlight, but hide in the darkness. Her hair was deep hues of crimson against her pale face. One could surely tell that they had been dyed recently. She always walked and spoke in this high-class way, yet he admired her gentleness. Xavier was so lost in observing the girl that he didn’t even notice that her eyes were already transfixed on him. She was intently staring back at him but he kept a stoic expression and kept staring back at her

Genesis’ P.O.V
I couldn’t believe it had been 5 years since I last saw Xavier. He had grown even more handsome over the years. He looked amazing in his now-blonde hair. Even though he looked amazing in his natural dark hair. I wondered if he still remained a klutz. My question was answered the next moment when Xavier removed his sunglasses, snapping them in half in the process.
A smile broke out on my face. It appeared as if I had won the lottery. “Still the same aren’t you Xay?”
″Stop with that nickname, don’t you know how much I loathe it?″ Xavier couldn’t pretend to hate it no matter how hard he tried, he loved it. He couldn’t stop the smile forming on his face. Putting his dimples on full display.
We both had a lot to catch up on so we went to Xavier's friend’s café just because he claimed they had the best red velvet cupcakes and I was craving those.
The tiny café huddled despondent among the huge city buildings. Washed out under the overcast sky, it hunched in itself, fighting against the drizzle. Hundreds of people rushed by it, outside on the crowded street. The half a dozen customers glanced up as the door swung open, heralded by a blast of cold wind. Unlike the outside, the interior of the café was warm and cheery, with bright lights and colorful walls. The customers returned to their conversations as the door swung closed behind us and the cold breeze was forgotten.
As I was observing the café I saw a man in my peripheral vision, he wore a maroon apron. His face lit up when he glanced at us. He came towards us and did some kind of secret handshake with Xavier. Xavier introduced us and we talked for a while. After blessing us with his dad jokes Dylan left as he had to look over his staff.
I sipped the coffee in pure contentment. It tasted extremely nice and had a sweet aroma.
I glanced in Xavier’s direction and a smile played on my lips as I remembered how we met the day I turned 7. At the playground, he sat across from me with a small smile. Our toes could hardly touch the floor then. I remember being so very cross with him all the time. How his teasing could get me so hot in the head and set a burning glow to my cheeks. But there was laughter. How gracefully he seemed to evade punishment. With such clumsy, tripping feet, he could never follow so slick a dance. He was always getting me into trouble, but then again, just as easily getting me out of it.
I checked my phone and it was around 7:00 pm. We said our goodbyes and parted ways. I still couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. It had been 5 years since I last saw my Xay. The idea of meeting him again had easily made my day.
