LONG LOST LOVE

FATED TO MEET

"What went wrong?"

Ivan asked.

She only moved her face away and stopped looking at him.

She wasn't ready to answer any questions, she was devastated, thinking back to life she had.

After all she didn't stand by her promise to wait for him.

_Flashback_

Some years ago in a small town, an earthquake occurred which claimed the lives of so many people.

Ivan was from a crumbling elite family, their family was almost down to nothing, but they could still pay bills, Ivan was sent on an errand when the incident happened.

It was a mini store owned by Janine's father, Ivan entered the store and our purchased what he was sent to buy.

He was about to go out when he felt the floor starting to tremble he didn't know what he was supposed to do,he just ran outside immediately.

Janine's father was very alert immediately and he rushed inside to carry Janine outside as she was his only precious gem.

He was about to go inside to grab his wife who was heavily pregnant and could hardly move because she had sore foot when the whole building came crashing down.

Janine burst out in tears as she could not hold back her tears any longer because she saw the whole building collapse.

She had a feeling she was not going to see her mother and father again but she still had the false hope and started praying for them to survive.

It took a very long time for the rescue team to arrive because they had to save those from influential families first.

Ivan was unconscious during time but they could not figure out where Janine's parents were because they were buried under the rumbles.

Janine cried harder, because she felt she couldn't live any longer without her parents, she started to bawl seriously and was hoping for death to take her alongside, because she was not too young to understand what was going on.

She was unconscious about her surroundings when she stumbled upon Ivan's body and quickly rushed to call a rescue team member.

The rescue team managed to save Ivan and he was rushed to the hospital but he already lost part of his memory, he could not remember his house or where he came from, but he remembered his name clearly.

His family had been searching for him, no one knew the face of Ivan because his face has been hidden from when he was very young.

Everyone in the Gerald's family was just hoping for the best.

It was until after a few months in the orphanage that they were able to find Ivan. His parents and grandparents have been searched all over during the time.

They couldn't publicize his pictures because it was risky.

In the orphanage Ivan and Janine became extremely close friends, Ivan was very good at crafting bracelets from used wools and ropes so he made a matching bracelets for him and Janine.

It was an adjustable one so they could use it for a very long time.

Janine became Ivan's best friend because she remember his face clearly did night the incident occurred she would always follow him everywhere and he would always protect her as a big brother whenever she was bullied.

Things weren't really going on well in the orphanage but they were very happy because they had each other.

Although it is a scarring memory for Janine to forget her real parents but she had no choice than to try to move on because she fell sick constantly in the first few months of her parents demise.

She does not know anybody from her father or mother's family so she had to be taken to the orphanage.

She was hopeful that one day, they would find her.

Few months after the incidents when she was a little bit ill, Ivan took care of her so much that she could not get him off her mind.

They promised each other that in the near future they would marry each other, it was a very young love but they both had the determination in their minds.

After about 6 months of living in the orphanage Ivan's family finally found him, they have been searching from one orphanage to another,and this particular orphanage was in another town entirely.

They had to come take him, he was reluctant even though his memories came back,he didn't tell anyone cos he didn't want to leave Janine.

He requested for Janine to be taken along but they couldn't afford to have another child at the moment because they were struggling and all of them sold their properties and planned to move abroad so they can start a new life.

It was a very painful moment for Ivan and Janine but they had to part eventually.

Janine cried her eyes out and could not eat for days because her only friend and best friend was gone.

Even after she lost her parents and Ivan left, she had to continue living her life because there was more to life and she believes they will meet in the future.

Her father used to teach her to be optimistic about the future.

Janine was later adopted by her father's younger brother who wanted to harvest her organs for their dying daughter.

Her father's younger brother Arson James was a greedy man and he took all the inheritance, he chased Janine's father (Johnny) away from their hometown.

The Arson's family took Janine to their house and for public credit they showed her to the world that they adopted their dead brother's daughter.

But miraculously their daughter survived her sickness after just two weeks of Janine's arrival.

Even though Janine was not even done with the several tests that were supposed to be conducted on her to see if she had matching organs in her body.

They could not just dispose Janine because they were from a very influential family and they could not ruin your image just yet, because the paparazzi is always on their tail for every detail.

So they had to leave her and let her live her life but they made sure she was always at the end of receiving their very bad mood or aggression.

James' wife Carina was against this all from the start, she loved Janine from her heart but she couldn't control her overbearing husband, any little chance she had with Janine, she would use it well.

There were several times she got caught feeding Janine a good food but she got punished by her husband and her stepmother.

In the presence of the media they treat her like a princess but deep down at home she's just a slave that was adopted.
