Reality Check

He sneered at me when I said those words. He kept glaring at me, probably thinking that I would back down from him. Well, it sucks to be him, because I do not back down from any fight. Not now, not ever. I removed my attention from him and looked behind him to ask Claude what they wanted from me. He just stared at me in horror after what I had told his precious prince. "You're not going to answer or am I supposed to be a mind-reader? Because that is not a part of my job description." Claude scrambled to form sentences that he could not articulate when Marco spoke. "Are you ignoring me right now?" he asks. I was actively ignoring him when he grabbed my arm and made me look at him. "Do you really not care what I will do to you?" he asks me, with his voice dripping with rage. I rolled my eyes at him and said, "What exactly are you capable of, Marco? Because all I could see ever since I met you was that you do not deserve your position. You are acting like a complete spoiled brat. Just because you are the crown prince of a country, does not give you the right to exercise your power outside of it. It also does not give you the right to throw your weight wherever you go. I am not your subject, therefore you do not have any right to make me obey you. And you will also have to remember that I am not any normal person. I am an assassin. I can do more creative things for you before you can even think up of a plan to subdue me." I did not let him answer. I kept on talking. "Just because you were trained by Henry does not mean that you are better than most people. Because even Henry died to those people. People who are not even assassins. So yeah, I do not give two shits about what you will do to me, because I have seen worse. I have even done some of the worst things that any sane person could think of. You have probably seen my laboratory. You even wrecked the door of it. Even one drop from one of those vials could kill a fully grown man. So, tell me, Crown Prince of Monaco. What are you going to do to me?" He was not able to answer my question. "I thought so," I said before shrugging off his hand from my arm. I turned my back on him and slammed the door shut in his face, not caring what he was going to think. I removed the bones from the chicken earlier and threw them in the trash bin before going back to the computer to dig further into the people those bastards had contact with prior to my arrival in Brundtland. I also need to dig further into who they are contacting right now. Especially after I blew up both of our houses. They are already on the run after the Ross family found out about what happened to their daughter Annabelle. Though I am quite confused. They had not yet ditched the car where I put the tracking chip. Why? Then I had such a revelation. I immediately connected to one of the satellites under my name and started to frantically look for them. After a few minutes of searching, my suspicions were correct. They are not the ones using the car. "s**t!" I used every resource I could use to track them down again. Luckily, they are not that smart when it comes to hiding their trail. I finally found them. It seems that they are settling down in Florida. They have been there for weeks. Let's hope they don't leave for a few more months. But, in case they do leave, I already configured the satellites to track their every move and store the videos in the cloud. So that I can review it whenever I am not training the recruits or being nagged by Marco. When all of that was done, I left my computer running and let it do its thing before leaving the office. I locked it because of one nosy prince living in the vicinity. I need to be careful of where he sticks his nose in. I went downstairs and saw everybody eating in the dining hall. I went inside and informed them that they needed to come to the training ground after eating. I heard a few grunts of annoyance, but one glare from me, and they all went silent. I immediately left because I felt someone was glaring daggers at me. I took a tablet with me before going out of the house. I need the information of each of the recruits to be able to make a proper training set for them. While I was busy doing that, I saw a bit of movement to my right. I ignored it at first, considering I needed to finish the training set but the movement kept on bugging me and when I turned to face them, once again, I saw Marco. I grunted in annoyance before ignoring him again and returning my attention to the tablet and crossing off the checklist one by one until everything was checked out. And he did not leave. I'll have to give him credit where credit is due. The man has patience. And he just drained mine. "What do you want, Marco? You have been standing there ever since I got out. Spit it out already." He contemplated what to say for a minute before deciding to tell me what was on his mind. "I'm sorry." I stopped in my tracks and looked at him. I actually gaped at him. "I'm sorry, but can you repeat that? I need to record it. You know, receipts. In case you say that you don't make apologies." I was taking out my phone when he plucked it out of my hand and that made me look at him. "No recording. I just need you to hear me out."
