Tom pushed his phone aside and cupped Dora up in his arm like she weighed nothing.

He sat on the bed and knelt before her as he began to undress her. To his shock, she wore no underwear. Her breasts like he had imagined all night, like standing firm, covered by her flawless skin. Tom drove straight to his house, his daughter's nanny came out to greet him with this panicked look on her face. He could feel his heart stop beating because, from experience, whenever his daughter's nanny came out to greet him with such a facial expression, it could only be one thing… Lina had had her seizures.

“ Master Tom, I just got back from the hospital… Lina had her seizures and this time it was very violent…

“ When did it start ?

“ It started at exactly 11: pm and I called you immediately but you didn't pick. At first, I thought it was the normal seizure and something I could handle, but then it escalated into something more serious, so I had to rush her to the hospital even while calling you.” She stared at him now, but could not dare to ask me the question on her mind.

Tom turned his back on her. He could not meet her gaze, because he felt very guilty, while he was busy fornicating with a woman he barely knew.

“ I am going to the hospital. Let me know when if you need anything.”

“ I want to come with you.”

Wordlessly, Tom let her join him in the car. The journey to the hospital was silent. Tom felt nothing but contempt for himself. He was not the father he promised to be. Rather, he was becoming the kind of father that he swore never to become, the kind of father his own father was. Once, he cared about nothing but his own self, and who had pleasure while his family was in pain.

The memories from years came flooding back. These were images that he swore never to come into his mind, but yesterday's event brought them back.
