Chapter 1 - The accident

MIA "Mia! Go get my box!" I was rushing with some bags to our car when I heard my mother's yell. She doesn't seem to stop yelling. She's always ordering me around like some kind of work animal. My father is her exact opposite. He's always gentle and kind with his words, nevertheless he always supports my mother's ranting. Something that gets me quite upset but what can I do, parents are always right. I huffed and walked back to the house. "Coming." I stressed the words. Before long, we were walking to the car all dressed a bit classy. We were going for my aunt's wedding. My mother's younger sister, Patricia is having her wedding today after two broken ones. From the frantic stories she told us, she's always at fault and gives no s**t about a man who disrespects her decisions. Typical iron lady. My father drove into the road with my mother babbling about the way I stuffed her cosy box in the trunk. She's always full of complaints, pissing me off with her nagging. I just huffed and shut my ears with my ear pods, tired of listening to her. After few seconds, I noticed my father was staring back at me. I quickly removed the pods from my ear to hear him speak. "I said where would you love to work since you just graduated? Pat is offering you one in her restaurant." "Dad I just graduated with a degree in business and you want me to get my ass settled in a damn restaurant? Worst of all one not up to five stars?" "Hey drop it there! Do you think you are a pretty celebrity because you just scaled out of school? Shut if off cause you are taking up that offer!" My mum yelled. "W-what?" "Emm - can you just give us a moment please?" My father said to my mum and she jerked a bit. "Fine!" She shouted and I relaxed my already tensing nerves. "I'll work when am ready to. For now, I just need to cool my head from that was filled with lava from school." I said while looking out the window. We were on a long bridge, whales and after that next is the cathedral we were heading to. "When will that be?" It was my mother again. She just can't keep her mouth shut for a second. "I don't know!" I screamed. "Hey! Don't shout at me Mia!" Then I noticed my father's frantic display at the front. He was somewhat lost between confusion and fear. "What's wrong?" Mother and I asked together. "THE BRAKES! I can't get a hold of it!" "What!!!" He swerved the car on the road to avoid an oncoming truck and in his fear, lost control of the steering and bashed over the bridge. We were suspended in mid air for a millisecond until the car finally dropped into the water. The door crashed open with the force of jumping into the water and pushed me out. The current pushed me harder and I hit my head against a large stone underwater, momentarily blacking out. The pains kept pulsating through every nerve cell in my brain until I finally got to an edge. I can't remember how long I've been in the water with no one coming to my rescue but when I opened my eyes next on the shore, I saw a new face. A male face.
