Chapter 3 - Get a mate

Last night was a mess. I couldn't even get my own fill. Tom's ladies looked all f****d up. I will be going to work soon and I need to take a run before that, jogging through the streets.

Its a long street, newly built estate and part of my property. So far, my achievements has put my pack, Castros at ease. Shutting their mouths permanently or maybe temporarily given my alpha is always temperamental. He might decide to get back at my family and we are just weak omegas in the pack who has to depend on the government of the pack to provide our daily needs. Providing these daily needs made the alpha and his family overly pompous, that sophisticated piece of s**t. I don't give a damn about him. Thanks to my useful self, I left the pack to start my life anew and look where it landed me. A successful oil company and an estate of my own - its getting into my head though, a times.

The only thing lacking in my life and causing my heart to bleed is love. My first relationship broke with my lover's infidelity, that was before I could amass wealth from my then developing company. She was an infidel, always keeping secrets from me. Not until she mated the alpha of Muhal pack. It was like I was pricked in the heart.

I bled inwardly countless times because I loved her. But I learnt to live through the pain, until I met Tom. A rogue, beta of his pack. He also broke out because of the excesses of his brother - like he told me. He introduced me to his harem, at least for now my urges get satisfied. Mate matters aside for now. Though my wolf is really angry at me for pushing mating matters aside, I can't just go ahead to mate whoever. I need a mate that will be much closer to me, share my feelings and my thoughts while I cherish her.

I was done with my morning exercise soon enough. I went back to my house, got into the shower and took a quick cold shower. Breakfast? No time for that right now, I spent much time today jogging so its better to get to work early enough. Am strict with time, I hate being late for work which made me to make a very strict rule about late coming for my workers. Lucky enough, they are keeping to it.

I walked into the company, a large building which took lots of money, effort and few months, time and calculations to build. Building it from the scratch taught me a lot of things. I've been trying really hard to get my parents, to stay with me and leave the pack but they are really bureaucratic. Something I hate so much.

As soon as I got into the office and took my seat, I heard a knock at my door. "Come in."

My project manager, Noel walked in finely dressed. "Sorry sir but we have an issue. The ASME are complaining about our oil and marketing standards."

"What did they say about it?"

"Said it gave a lower pressure so they increased the marking and testing rates of the drills."

"What about the Petroleum institute? Did they say anything about the standards?"

"Not at all - "

"And the proposed deal? Did they agree to it?"

"They talked a bit about the barrel but we struck the deal nonetheless. We made a draft for new imports, the strategist did precisely. So we need you to review the deal and approve the purchasing. Here are the files."

"Drop it for review at my desk. I'll check it at my convenience."

"Actually sir, the crew needs a reply in two days."

"Alright then, I'll check it."

Noel walked out after that. He's always very efficient and he's one of my early employees, giving his best to the company. I'm still thinking of a way to repay him. He's a human and he has seen me shift before. Guess what he said, he asked me to bite him so he'll be like me. It doesn't work that way, I had said to him. Wait until the next full moon.

I was going to meet Tom next when I got home but the arrival of my mother killed that idea almost. I wasn't expecting her.

"The next full moon is in few months time. You got plans?"

"Mum, I hope you aren't talking about a mate cause that isn't in my to do list for now. I haven't found one either."

"Come back to the pack then, Aiden. We got a new alpha recently. He's better than the last. And you can find a mate there as well."

"Mum, am doing fine here managing my company. Can we talk about this some other time?" I bolted out of the house.

My mum? She will keep on pestering me with the idea of getting a mate after my to be mate rejected me.

I took a drive to the lounge opposite my usual breakfast restaurant to calm my mind. My mum has really soiled my mood tonight.
