Diane Our drive to Barrington was long. Cole had designated one of his men to drive us, knowing Brian would tire easily. Brian slept most of the trip, his head leaning against the window, breathing softly. I, on the other hand, couldn't get Olsen out of my mind. I guess that was his aim, and he had achieved it. The landscape blurred past, trees and fields merging into a continuous dark haze. The rhythmic hum of the engine should have been soothing, but my thoughts were too chaotic. I didn't know how to process it all, but I knew I had to stay calm. Things could only get better from here. Olsen won't even have to leave Cole because I don't plan to join the family business.
