XXII Dark inspected the Abstraction Chamber. He sniffed the metal and sensed fire, smoke, and the reptilian scent of dragons. His eyes wandered up the tall cylinder and wondered how it created the dragons he’d seen in the city—amalgamations between dragons, magic, and architecture. “How does this machine work?” he asked. Ennius walked over to a control panel that was lit up with buttons, knobs, and LCD displays. “I am sure that you of all dragons will appreciate this, Mr. Dark,” Ennius said.
