Lynne’s POV:
When we arrived at the hospital, the doctor performed a full examination on Warren. Thankfully, aside from a few bruises and the injury to his leg, everything else was fine. His wound was quickly treated, and he was moved to a hospital room for an IV drip.
“Lynne, I can’t move my leg. Can you stay and take care of me?” Warren grasped my hand, his face pale from pain and blood loss.
I felt torn. This man had risked his life to save me, but I didn’t want to be alone with him here. The idea made me uncomfortable.
Just then, Aaron leaned over and whispered to me, “Lynne, I’m no longer needed here. Can I leave?”
I was about to ask him to stay when Warren interrupted from his bed, “Mr. Scott, thank you for your help. I have Lynne and the nurse here; you can go now.”
