Clara and her daughter were quite disappointing, and shortly after Aaron took them away, the party ended.
As expected, Lacey wanted me to truthfully tell her about the relationship between me, Aaron, and Clara. She was afraid I would encounter another jerk.
I understood her concern, so I reassured her by sharing everything I knew—Clara’s relentless fixation on Aaron, Merry’s illness, and, most importantly, Aaron’s unequivocal rejection of Clara.
"But those are Aaron's private matters. They have nothing to do with me. We are just business partners," I added to reassure Lacey.
