6 Roger scheduled a meet-and-greet on the Friday morning before the school year started, with a barbeque lunch to follow. Cassandra and Martin transported Crystal and her belongings to our farmhouse on the previous morning, and as prearranged by my mother, they enjoyed lunch with Mom and me before leaving Crystal in our capable hands. That first evening, as she indicated she would a few weeks earlier, Crystal joined me on my walk along the laneway to the rear of the farm.
