Chapter 2

As soon as she reached the falls, she immediately ran towards the water. She put the bucket above the big stone and she jumped to the water. She kept on swimming and swimming, didn’t mind the crow who was staring at her. Aislinn got tired of swimming so she walked out of the water and started to fill the bucket with water using a big black mug. While she was filling the bucket, she heard a sound coming from the tree beside her. She looked at it and after that, she roamed her eyes around the place. She didn’t saw anyone. She was only alone and there were no other witches with her. She started washing the clothes. She was serious and there was no smile on her face, only a sad one for her husband didn’t keep his promise. He always lies. “Why are you alone here, my lady?” A voice of a man said. It echoed in every corner of the place. She looked around, holding herself not to use her magic. She clenched her fist as the fear consumed her. The bad thing about not using magic is that she cannot protect herself from unwanted beings like this. She could feel and smell that it wasn’t the blood of a wizard but a blood of a crow. Crows have a human form like them. Crows are aggressive and when they like someone, they will do everything to get him or her even if it takes years. That’s how crows fall in love. They are blind in love and they’ll push themselves. Well, everyone would like Aislinn. She has pale white skin, lips as red as blood, and is petite. Every boy likes her but she chose the laziest and obsessed man like Leandro. “Who are you?” she asked the crow but the crow didn’t respond to her. She heard footsteps coming towards her. She looked at her back and she saw her husband. Leandro was topless and his body was full of sweat. She stood up and she wiped the sweat from his six-pack abs and on his forehead. She was using a clean white towel that she just washed. “Are you okay?” she asked Leandro. Leandro touched Aislinn’s shoulder with a serious look on his face. “Let’s go home,” he said and he walked closer to the bucket. He put all of the clothes inside the bucket and Aislinn let her husband do what he wants. She cannot force him and all she needs to do is to follow him. They went to their house together while they were holding their hands. Aislinn was happy except for her husband who has a frown on his face. “Are you okay?” she asked again. “Yes,” he said and he sounded so mad at her. Aislinn didn’t mind it anymore because she knows that Leandro was just acting like a baby and he will eventually talk to her. As they reached their house, Leandro insisted that he wants to hang the clothes himself and let his wife take a rest. Aislinn was happy and she went inside their room to change her clothes. She wore a white long dress. After that, she laid on the bed. She closed her eyes and she felt her husband’s lips kissing her neck. She let him do what he wanted. Minutes had passed, she stood up. She looked at her husband who was sleeping peacefully. She loves her husband but he cannot give her a child. “No matter what we do, we cannot bear a child,” she said and she wore his white long dress again. She covered her body with a dark cloak and she sneaked out of their house. She ran away from her husband. It was already dark and the neighbors were probably sleeping. No one will find her and no one will know about what she did. Aislinn got tired from running. She sat on the grass and she roamed her eyes around the place. She saw big trees and she cannot see the village of witches and wizards. “Hmm, I am glad that I am far away from them,” she said and a genuine smile was formed on her lips. She loved the kind of freedom that she feels. Too much responsibility in the house and too much from the grip of her obsessed husband. “I love this, I feel like I am free,” she said and she laid on the grass. Aislinn stared at the stars in front of her. They were so beautiful like her. She felt relax and she thinks that no one will harm her so she closed her eyes. As time goes by, she felt something heavy above her so she opened her eyes and found out that she was already naked. She could still feel the heavy thing above her. She couldn’t even feel the cold because of its warmth. She was shocked and no matter what she does, she couldn’t escape from its grip. “Who…who are you?” she asked, almost losing her breath. She felt like she was the dirtiest witch ever lived. She knew what was happening to her body, she knows what would happen after this. She doesn’t feel like she was being forced, it was gentle, as gentle as the cotton when it touches her soft skin. She likes it, not the same as how her husband does it. “I was the crow who talked to you when you were at the falls,” the man said. It was the crow! How stupid was she that she let herself talk to that crow! And how stupid was she that she didn’t smell that it was a crow’s blood who was touching her! She doesn’t know anymore, she let her lust overpower her dignity. “Why…why are you doing this,” she said, almost stuttering. She couldn’t even see the face of the crow because it was dark. “Because I love you,” he said. She clenched her fists. She likes the feeling but she knows that she will be killed by her husband. As soon as the crow was done, he left. Aislinn was the only one left. She felt devastated. She wore her dress again and before she knew it, it was already dawn. The sun was starting to rise. She immediately ran away, afraid that her husband will know what she has done. She reached their house and she immediately went to the kitchen, pretending that she was cooking. While she was in front of the kitchen sink, she felt something inside her that wants to come out. She vomited. Everything that she ate last night was useless because she just threw it in the sink. She washed her face after vomiting. Then she touched her stomach. “I’m pregnant,” she said that made her dreams fell. After nine months of waiting, she finally gave birth to a girl. They were inside their bedroom with Queen Airlia, the queen helped her gave birth. The Queen is her grandmother. The Queen stared at the child and her smile instantly faded. “Mother, give me my child,” Aislinn said. She was looking tired but she still has that smile on her face. She’s happy now that she has a child. And the fact that it was a baby girl made her feel delighted. The Queen gave the child to her, she put it on Aislinn’s chest. “My baby,” she said. Leandro barge inside the room. “Where is the baby?” he asked with a smile on his lips. His eyes landed on Aislinn’s chest. He stared at the child and a scowl was formed on his forehead. He couldn’t see a serpent’s tail, instead, he saw black wings on her back. “This is not my child!” he shouted. Aislinn looked at her husband and she felt nervous and terrified. It looked like her husband wanted to kill her. Leandro was about to attack her with his fangs but the Queen’s power stopped him. Leandro couldn’t move and his body started to get weak. “You will call this child Avyana Celestine Adelinda,” the Queen said and Aislinn started to cry. “I’m sorry, Leandro,” she said. “She has the crow’s wings, and not a serpent’s tail,” she said that made her heart broke. “Leave her alone and if you’ll try to kill her again, then before you could ever lay your hands on her, you’re dead,” the Queen said. Leandro went out of their house. He ran away. No matter how much he loves his wife, he cannot accept the fact that it was not his child. It was a child of a crow, a cursed being.
