Alpha Brandon POV The moment I pushed the door to my office open, something felt wrong. It wasn’t just instinct—it was the thick, uncomfortable tension in the air, the kind that made my wolf stir restlessly beneath my skin. My steps slowed for only a fraction of a second before my eyes landed on the figure sitting on my desk. Celine was half-dressed, Completely uninvited. “Brandon…” she purred, her voice dripping with something that immediately made my blood boil. “What the hell is going on here?” I roared, my voice echoing sharply through the room. She startled at the sound, her body jerking upright as her gaze darted past me, only then realizing that I wasn’t alone. The moment she saw Grayson and Zachary standing behind me, whatever confidence she had vanished instantly, replaced with panic. She scrambled for her robe, her hands trembling slightly as she pulled it over herself. “Alpha… I thought you were coming alone,” she said quickly, her voice unsteady. Grayson let out a laugh, loud and mocking, completely unapologetic. “Did we ruin your little plan?” he said, his amusement only growing. My jaw clenched tightly, anger rising dangerously within me as I took a step forward. “What are you doing in my office, half-naked?” I demanded again, my voice colder now, sharper. Then my gaze snapped toward the guard standing near the door, fear already evident on his face. “You said someone required my attention,” I growled. “Is this what you meant?” The guard immediately dropped his head. “I’m sorry, Alpha. Elder Maeve said it was urgent. She insisted I bring you here.” “Like mother, like daughter,” Zachary muttered darkly behind me. My fists clenched at my sides as I turned back to Celine, disgust evident in my expression. “You already lost the challenge,” I said coldly. “What are you still doing here?” She swallowed hard, her body trembling, though whether from fear or humiliation, I couldn’t care less. “I… I wanted to show you what you’re missing,” she said, her voice weaker now, lacking the boldness she had walked in with. Grayson scoffed loudly. “Clearly not much,” he replied without hesitation. “Our mate is far more worthy.” The words struck her like a slap, and I saw it in her eyes, the flicker of anger, of wounded pride. “Are you not ashamed of yourselves?” she snapped suddenly, her gaze shifting toward Grayson and Zachary. “Sharing a woman with your Alpha?” My patience snapped. “What does that have to do with you?” I thundered, my voice filled with pure rage. “Have I ever come to you to complain?” She flinched, but she didn’t back down. “You are the Alpha,” she insisted, her voice shaking but stubborn. “You deserve someone who is yours alone. Someone who doesn’t belong to other men.” A sharp, humorless laugh left Zachary. “Coming from you?” he said, his tone dripping with disdain. “Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten why I ended things with you.” That caught my attention immediately, my gaze snapped toward him. “Slept with an omega, didn’t you?” he added coldly. The silence that followed was heavy. My expression darkened as realization set in. “So you’re the one they’ve been talking about,” I said slowly, my voice dangerously quiet. “The pack’s disgrace.” Celine opened her mouth, but no words came out, her face pale with shock and humiliation. Before she could recover, another voice cut through the tension. “Alpha, you must marry my daughter after sleeping with her!” Elder Maeve. Her voice carried authority, but when she stepped into the room and saw that we were not alone, her expression faltered slightly. I crossed my arms slowly, my gaze hard and unyielding. “And why would I do that?” I asked. “When exactly did I touch your daughter?” Her eyes flickered briefly between us, clearly thrown off by the presence of Grayson and Zachary. “I thought you would be with your mate,” she said, attempting to recover. Zachary stepped forward slightly, his expression dark. “What are you planning this time?” he asked. Maeve glanced at Celine, who shook her head subtly, fear written all over her face. That alone told me everything I needed to know. “This is your last warning,” I said coldly, my voice carrying finality. “Keep your daughter away from me.” Before anything else could be said, the door opened again. Kyle walked in. “Alpha, Luna Desiree and Avery said you requested my presence,” he said. The words didn’t sit right. “I never sent for you,” I replied immediately. Confusion spread across his face. “But they said—” The realization hit instantly. “They played you,” Grayson said sharply, already on edge. “Where are they now?” he demanded. Kyle hesitated. “I left them at my door. They said it was urgent… they should be with Daphne.” We didn’t wait. The three of us moved at once, tension rising rapidly with every step as we headed toward Kyle’s quarters. But the moment we arrived, the emptiness hit like a blow. No scent. No presence. Nothing. Panic surged through me instantly, sharp and overwhelming. “You said they would be here,” I snapped, my voice rising dangerously. “Where are they?” “Your sister is to blame for this,” Grayson shot at Zachary, his frustration clear. Zachary didn’t respond, but the tension in his posture said enough. “Alpha,” Kyle said quickly, trying to steady the situation, “let me mindlink Daphne. She will tell us where they are.” I nodded sharply, already turning toward the exit. If something had happened to Desiree,I didn’t even want to finish that thought. We moved quickly toward the pack borders, urgency driving every step as my heart pounded heavily in my chest. “Have you seen your Luna?” I demanded the moment we reached the guards. They exchanged nervous glances before one finally spoke. “Yes, Alpha. They said they wanted to release their wolves.” My anger flared instantly. “And you let them go?” Zachary barked. “We thought you were aware,” the guard said quickly. “We’re sorry.” Careless. All of them. And now Desiree was out there—unprotected. “Did you reach her?” I heard Grayson ask Kyle. “Yes,” Kyle replied hesitantly. My head snapped toward him. “Where is she?” He swallowed hard. “You won’t like it.” A dangerous silence followed. “Say it,” I ordered. “They’re in the human world.” Everything inside me stilled, fear gripped my chest. I had been there before, I knew what lurked there. Hunters. People who would kill wolves without hesitation. “They’re in danger,” I said, already moving. “We need to go now.” “Alpha…” Kyle hesitated. “She doesn’t sound like she’s in danger. They’re at a restaurant… and they plan to go to a club.” For a second, I just stared at him. Then— “Club?” Grayson exploded, his anger turning feral. “My mate is in a place filled with men?” Kyle blinked, clearly processing that information for the first time. “There will be men there?” I didn’t even answer. Because right now, nothing mattered more than getting to her. I turned back to the guards, my gaze cold and unforgiving. “I will deal with you later.” Then without another word, I stepped forward, my wolf already restless, already burning with the need to find her. Because the moment I reached her, she was going to learn exactly what it meant to leave without telling me. And anyone who dared look at her… Would regret it.
