Desiree pov My mates didn't trust me to go to bed alone, they led me straight to the alpha chamber where Brandon's king-size bed awaited us. Grayson yanked away his already ripped top and threw it on the floor “What the hell is he on about” Zachary on the other hand is fuming “I should have ripped his head off when he said he was here for our mate” “Do you understand what he said?” Brandon asked me. I shook my head in confusion “I have no idea, my parent never mentioned that to me and why did he come now that I found my mate” “I am certain your elders are behind the catastrophic” Grayson fumed. If not for the circumstances, his exposed chest and the way his abs react anytime he talks would be my focus. “Do you know we can smell your arousal and it isn't helping” Brandon warned. “I don't mean to but he is distracting my wolf” I replied shyly. “Let your wolf get used to us like this,” Grayson replied. “So, what the hell is this moon-born?, we need to figure that out first” Brandon asked. Zachary frowned deeply. “That’s the strange part.” “What do you mean?” I asked. He hesitated before answering, clearly choosing his words carefully. “In werewolf legends… a Moon-Born wolf is someone blessed directly by the Moon Goddess during a rare celestial event.” Grayson folded his arms across his chest. “And when I say rare, I mean ridiculously rare. The Blood Moon only appears once every few centuries.” My heart skipped nervously. “So what does that have to do with me?” Zachary looked uncomfortable now. “A Moon-Born wolf is said to be… different.” “How different?” Again, no one answered right away. The silence stretched painfully between us. Finally, Grayson spoke. “Stronger.” Zachary added quietly, “Faster.” Then Brandon finished in a low voice. “And powerful enough to unite multiple Alphas.” My breath caught in my throat. Suddenly, the memory of the training arena flashed through my mind. The moment when I had thrown Grayson to the ground without even understanding how. The technique they said only trained Alpha warriors could perform. A chill ran down my spine. “That’s ridiculous,” I muttered weakly. “I’ve never even led a pack.” “That’s not the point,” Zachary said. “Then what is the point?” Brandon stepped closer to me. The powerful presence of his Alpha aura surrounded me instantly, warm and protective but also heavy with concern. “The point,” he said slowly, “is that rogues don’t attack a pack just to retreat five minutes later.” I swallowed hard. “They came for me.” The words slipped out before I could stop them. It wasn’t a question. Grayson cursed under his breath. “Looks like it.” I wrapped my arms around myself as a cold wind passed through the clearing, my wolf stirred uneasily inside me. “Why would rogues care about something like that?” I asked quietly. “No idea,” Grayson replied. “But if a rogue Alpha traveled this far with an entire group just to see you…” He didn’t finish the sentence. He didn’t need to. Something about this situation was far bigger than any of us understood. Suddenly, one of the pack warriors hurried inside and toward Brandon. “Alpha,” he said urgently. “We found something.” Brandon turned sharply. “What is it?” The warrior held out a small object wrapped carefully in cloth. “We found this near the tree line where the rogues were standing.” My stomach tightened as Brandon accepted the cloth. Slowly, he unwrapped it. The moment the object inside became visible, my breath caught in my throat. A silver necklace. A delicate crescent moon pendant hung from a thin chain, glinting under the moonlight. My hand instinctively flew to my neck, it was empty My heart skipped violently. “How did—” My voice faded as confusion flooded my mind. I had been wearing that necklace earlier. I was absolutely sure of it. I never took it off. Never. It had been with me my entire life. Zachary noticed my reaction immediately. “Des… is that yours?” “I… I think so.” Brandon turned the pendant over slowly, examining it more closely.“There’s something engraved on the back.” Grayson leaned closer to look, his expression slowly shifted from curiosity to confusion. “That’s… strange.” “What does it say?” I asked nervously. Brandon lifted his eyes to meet mine, then he read the words aloud. “The Moon-Born shall awaken when claimed by the four.” The room went completely silent, my heart slammed violently against my ribs. “Four?” Grayson repeated slowly. Zachary’s brows furrowed deeply. “But there are only three of us.” Grayson took the necklace from Brandon and examined it carefully. “This doesn’t look like ordinary silver,” he said. Zachary nodded slowly. “It’s old… very old.” “How old?” I asked. “Older than any of us,” Brandon said. A strange feeling began growing inside my chest.“My mother gave me that necklace,” I whispered suddenly. Three heads snapped toward me. “What?” Zachary asked. I nodded slowly, my mind racing as fragments of memories resurfaced. “I was very young… maybe five or six. She told me it would protect me.” Grayson raised an eyebrow. “Protect you from what?” “I don’t know.” The truth was, I had never questioned it before. The necklace had simply always been there. Like a part of me. “Did she ever explain where it came from?” Brandon asked gently. I shook my head. “She just said it belonged to our family.” A heavy silence followed. Then Zachary spoke carefully. “That engraving doesn’t sound like something meant for protection.” “What does it sound like then?” I asked. His voice dropped slightly. “A prophecy.” The word made my stomach twist. Prophecy? That sounded insane. This wasn’t some fantasy story. This was my life and yet… Everything happening tonight felt unreal. Grayson suddenly looked toward the dark forest again. “You realize what this means, right?” Brandon’s jaw tightened. “Say it.” Grayson exhaled slowly. “If the rogue Alpha knew about the Moon-Born… and about her necklace…” Zachary finished the thought quietly. “Then someone must have told him.”
