Chapter 5

Jayden's Pov The loud shrilling sound of my alarm erupted through the hair that snapped me off from my precious sleep, I felt my body cracking immediately I stretched out, the stress was visible. “Jayden, it's 8 am, you have meetings to cover up today, so get your a*s out of bed, right now,” Jenkins voice echoed from the corridor, I rolled my eyes playfully. Dragging my hips on the bed, I accidentally used my leg to push the glass of vodka remaining from last night's drunkenness. It fell off from the coffee table, crashing to the ground and enveloping the room with noise. “What now?” I muttered to myself, as I gently used my barefoot to sweep the glasses to the side, I sighed heavily, caressing my hair to the back. I raised my brows, staring around, my gaze landed on my cell phone on the couch. I reached the couch,I carried the phone, tapping on the button, my eyes widened in shock seeing the number of calls I had missed. It's from the office, well, I hissed and dropped it. I will be heading to the office in a minute. I know it's impossible for my assistant to call without a reason, so I weakly picked the phone again, scrolling through the missed calls in my phone, I tapped on my assistant's number, waiting patiently for her to pick up. “Hello, sir?” “Hey, Marina, what's the issue? It's too early for a call.” I said hoarsely , my voice almost laced with seriousness, I gently sat on the couch, mindlessly staring at the bed cabinet, waiting for her to tell me the reasons for the early morning call, so disheartened for her to call at this time, I hated it. “Sir, the investor came so early, they're all in the conference hall, waiting for your arrival,” she stated, my eyes widened in shock, as I didn't allow her to finish up, I ended the call, and dashed into the bathroom. Within some minutes, I was done, bathing, I glanced at the wall clock and let out a kid hiss. 8:49? Even with the quick shower I took 49 minutes in the bathroom, as I opened my wardrobe, my hand still holding the handle, the door swung open revealing jenkin, standing tall without even making an attempt to close the door. I sluggishly turned to face him with my towel wrapped around my waist. “Jenkin, the reason why a door is there, makes it clear that a person is supposed to knock before entering into someone's room,” I said, frowning my brows, my eyes struggling to open up because of how furious I was gradually becoming. “Fine,” he replied, slamming the door behind him. “Thank you.” I turned back to the wardrobe, rummaging through it to pick up a blazer or something more cooperative. “What if our mate is looking for us?” He suddenly asked, bringing back the topic of finding our mate, the same lady that ran off without waiting for us to wake up from our sleep. “I don't know, jenkin, I have meetings to attend, so I practically have a tough day ahead, an exhausting one, So, can we talk about this mating stuff, later.” “Okay, I will be in the living room waiting to see your appearance for today, please, look sharp and good looking, you're always looking worst in sometimes in your suit,” he mockingly whispered, as he stumbled back, raising his eyebrows at me, before finally exiting my room. “Dumbass!” I get the mate I claim her to myself, that should be the goal. I took my suit jacket from the hanger, placed it on my shoulder. Glancing at my reflection in the mirror, I didn't hesitate to compliment myself before leaving my room. Upon reaching the living room, I met with my oblivious brothers who thought sharing one woman is the goal, why not skip that brotherly goal and make my own goals. See the girl and claim her, imagine having a s*x routine time table in the mansion. No, it is not gonna work. “Brothers, I'm off to work,” I said with a smile on my face. Reaching to the door, Jethro called out, his arms spread on the couch. “Please, keep an eye on the road, maybe you might find her, the patriarchs are on our neck to get a mate, it's so frustrating that we're old enough to get a mate and the mate slipped off our fingers without a trace.” “That's not our fault, she decided to vw a lunatic by running away, so…” I trailed off, pressing my lips together, as I noticed the look on their faces. Not welcoming at all. “I will.” I said, grabbing the door knob, I stormed out, rolling the keys to my car on my middle finger, I pressed the red button on the key, and a loud humming sound envelope the air, the sirin sound of my car. I traced it to the parking lot and quickly slid into it. It was a rough ride to the office, accelerating the traffic jam on the way, pacing my space carefully until I finally reached the office. I drove into the compound, my tyre scratched up on the floor. I leaned on my seat, sighed heavily, before pushing the door open, stepping out to my surprise the whole workers were lined up, their gaze laced to the ground. I raised my gaze, looking forward, as Marina hurried towards me with a blue file, I angrily rolled my eyes. “Can't you wait for me to get to the office and relax before bringing a file to me, and why are the workers standing?” I asked, staring at her, with my hand on hip. “Sorry sir, I thought it's best you address them before attending the conference meeting.” She replied, her voice barely audible. “Fine, I will.” I walked past her straight to the top to address them. “Good morning everyone present.. I…I trailed off as I caught sight of a familiar face.” “Our mate?”
