Julian's POV The next morning, I am awake as early as six. Rita is still asleep so I give her a kiss on her forehead and rush to put on my clothes. As I am about to, my eyes hit my wristwatch. I quickly grab it and in no time, I am in my car, driving back home. I have never really thought about freshening up and leaving for work from Rita's home. It feels quite strange to do that. I have also never stayed the weekend at her place. I prefer it when she comes over and I'm glad that she doesn't complain. Ten minutes into the drive, my phone rings. Checking to see who it is, I see that it's Rita. I picked it up using my bluetooth speaker. "Hey, baby. Good morning. I'm sorry for leaving so early without telling you. I have to be at work really early and I didn't want to disturb your sleep." "I understand. I didn't see you so I wondered if you had left and called." "Thank you. What are you doing today by the way?" Julian asks. "Uhh, remember I have a trip to France? I'll be busy packing my stuff and meeting up with some people before leaving for France the day after tomorrow." "Okay, baby. I'll hit you up later in the day, okay?" I say to her as I get ready to end the call. "Alright. I love you." I don't even wait for her to complete those three words, I end the call. I find it really weird whenever she tells me that she loves me. I do not want that attachment. I hope she doesn't call me back. Soon, I'm driving into the gates of my home. The gardener, cook and housekeeper have all resumed. Rushing in, I take my bath and freshen up before getting ready for work. The cook is almost done with my meal by the time I am done getting ready. Using the time I have before my meal, I make a few calls and the last call is a longer one because I'm talking with an important client. When Tiffany brings my meal in, I take it from her but I do not start eating immediately. Soon, I'm done with the call. A message comes into my phone and thinking it's from work, I open it. Only to see a picture of Rita wearing a really beautiful dress. It's a beige colored dress with a low neckline and it's absolutely beautiful. Smiling, I send a compliment filled with emojis back to her. The next place the photo went to was my i********:. I captioned it, "Woman of my dreams." Before shutting my phone and concentrating on my meal. Once I'm done with my meal, I leave the house. It rinses and repeats everyday. Wake up to business calls while preparing for work, get to work, the whole boring routine and later in the evening, if I'm not driving home to make another batch of calls and conference meetings, I'm either visiting my mother or my quite demanding girlfriend or a random party my boys drag me to. Sometimes it's tiring and I wish I could take a vacation but I can't. — Jocelyn's POV As early as six in the morning, my alarm rings. Immediately, I shoot out of bed and go ahead with my morning routine. When I step out of my bathroom, I nearly trip over my luggage. "Who put this here..." Then I remember that last night, I and Jane kind of packed up my clothing and some other important things I'd be leaving with. It had been an interesting night as we both talked about a lot of random stuff while packing. I'm going to miss Jane. Yes, we might have not talked so much, but the few days with her had been amazing. I already promised I'd visit from time to time. The dress I'll be wearing today is hanging off the dresser. It's a checkered dress, straight cut and stopping mid thigh. There's a slit on the side. It's a pretty dress and Jane picked it out for me. How does she have a crazy dress sense and I don't? Seeing that I have started comparing myself, I stop it and quickly put my dress on. Giving my apartment one last look when I'm done, I drive my luggage out and go back in. I'm going to miss this place a bit. Yes, it might be compact and looking like a cubicle, but I still adapted. I turn my back to leave then I lock the door. Just as I am about to go to Jane's door, it opens and she steps out in her pyjamas looking really sleepy. "Hey, you're leaving now?" Jane says with a yawn. I nod. "Yes, Jane. I was going to inform you." "Well, I'm here," She spreads her arms. We both laugh and she takes my luggage from my hand. "I'll walk you to the bus stop. Once you get into a cab, I'll leave." "Thank you, Jane." "I'll miss you though," Jane says as she wheels my luggage towards the rickety elevator. Seeing that, I protest and we use the steps instead. "I know we haven't talked for long but I saw us being good friends." "There's still time, Jane. I'll make sure I come to your cafe each time I can. Maybe visit sometimes, too. We'd do it at our own pace." Now, we're standing and waiting for a cab on the main street after painfully lifting my luggage which is very heavy. We stand there for minutes waiting for a cab as the fog clears. From the distance, we see one coming and immediately, Jane begins to wave her hand in a form to flag the cab down. It stops and the driver places my luggage in his trunk. After giving Jane a hug, I slip into the car. I do not know what this job holds. I might not be doing it with all my heart but I'll surely give it my all.
