Julian's POV
I have always hated clubs. I can count how many times I attend clubs in a year. Maybe four or five times this year and this is the third time I'm here in this oriental club, wondering why the hell I agreed to go with Davin and Damien.
They're not here. They have decided that being with two strippers in a special room is better than sitting and having a drink with their friend who they invited to have fun at the club with. Now, I'm wondering if they ever needed me here.
Sighing, I sit back against the couch and watch clubbers dance as I sip from my flute of champagne. I'm glad I'm in the exclusive bar where I can watch clubbers from a glass compartment above. A few people are seated here and they range from business tycoons to cartels to casino owners to business men and influential people from the corporate world. There's not so much noise as there is downstairs and I like it. But I still don't feel comfortable in a club.
I guess I'll have to wait for another twenty minutes before deciding to leave this place. I'm already fed up.
I'm scrolling through my i********: news feed when someone sits beside me. The first signature is a strong cheap perfume in my nose that makes me nearly sneeze. I tear my eyes off my phone to see who's seated beside me.
I groan. Not another stripper. She's dressed in a black sexy lingerie, alright, but she doesn't catch my fancy and I have to dispose her immediately. I'm sure Davin sent her here.
"Hello, what do you need?" I ask in an utterly rude tone that causes the woman to frown. She stands to her feet and glares at me before walking away.
Whew!
That was easy. I relax back again and continue on my phone. Someone takes a seat beside me and when I sit up to probably speak rudely again, I realize it's Damien who has come to sit beside me.
"Dude, where have you been?" I ask.
Damien laughs. "Having the fun of my life, unlike you."
Sighing, I nod. "You should know I don't fancy the whole club aesthetic."
"Aye, man. We understand. But you shouldn't have sent that lady off like that. She really liked you."
"That's her business," I say nonchalantly. "I know you sent her,"
Damien shakes his head. He looks spazzed. "I didn't. Davin did," He says and gestures towards two people who are talking. I make them out from the dark to see that he's talking with that stripper. She seems really angry but I honestly do not care. I'm really tired and I want to go home and have a good night's sleep.
"Man, I'll be late for work tomorrow. There's a lot to do,"
Damien looks at me incredulously. "You're the f*****g CEO, bro! Why the hell would you be worrying over your company when there are hundreds of people running it?"
I roll my eyes at him. Damien might have a successful company but he's careless about it. He believes that his employees are enough but that's not my work ethic. I believe that everyone has a role to play and I follow it to the end.
I don't want to dissect that topic right now because I'm quite tired and not ready to engage in any argument.
I change topics. "How was the strip dance?"
Damien immediately goes with the flow of the conversation and I'm glad about that. There's a smile on his face. "Man, of all the strippers I've met, she's exceptional. I can't believe I actually asked her out on a date."
"Man, you are horny!" I exclaim, laughing.
Damien shrugs nonchalantly. "Maybe I am. But I like her. She knows what she's doing and she's quite interesting."
"I'm hoping on post-nut clarity to clear your head, man. You'll be fine. It happens to the best of us."
But Damien is still smiling like a highschool nerd in love when Davin comes to join us fuming.
"Man, what's wrong?" I ask.
"That b***h requested for a payment."
Frowning, I lean towards him. "Why? She didn't even do shit."
"That's the issue. She was all about embarrassment and wasting time. She collected charges for those,"
"You shouldn't have given her the money, man. She has no right to extort money from you," I say in annoyance. People are crazy.
"Nah. If I disagreed, she'd have embarrassed me in front of everyone. Those bitches, they don't care about reputation but I care about my reputation so I paid her off and told her to do something useful with her life."
"That's rude, man," Davin says as he gulps down his drink. "She's a stripper and also a human,"
Damien bursts into laughter. "You're suddenly advocating for strippers because of that one lady who took you to different dimensions with her moves?"
"Wait, he's that crazy about her?" I ask, laughing. I don't care if my friend is blushing or not. I'm all for making him embarrassed.
Damien nods. "He told you?" We're both laughing really loudly. "Man came out of the private room grinning from ear to ear and when I asked him what happened, he told me he met the woman of his dreams in a strip club but I know it's the horny hormones speaking. You'll be fine, Davin," Damien says and pats his friend's shoulder.
"I really like her, you both. I'm serious."
"Of course, we know you like her," Damien says, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
We spend a little time in the club, drinking and chatting till we decide that we really should go home.
As we leave the club, I pay for all the drinks. It's a treat for me. I've not been with them in months and it's all my fault because I keep shirking their invites. Now, I have to pay for my sins.
As soon as we're out of the club, we bid each other goodbye and enter into our respective cars.
Before I drive out of the lot, my phone beeps. It's a message from my mother and I opened it.
"Hey honey! There's a dinner party this weekend and I promise it's not going to be a disaster. You're invited and also your friends. I love you lots!"
