Chapter 4 My eyes opened slowly, a dull ache settling in as they did. Damn, what was wrong with me? I never fainted. Maybe I’d really pushed it between feeds. Except, that couldn’t be right. I’d gone longer than a few days before, and actually, other than the ache in my eyes, I felt better than I had in a long while. Almost as good as I’d felt the other day in my dream. “Tate, Tate!” Oh. The voice almost sounded like my dream man. It was a little hazy, but I was pretty sure he called me Tate then too.
