chapter 5:A popular playboy
Reyna woke up much later than usual because she was checking Liam out on i********: at night. He was so handsome in all his pictures ….she wondered why one person would be so perfect.
Jade had already gone to school but Nana was still home.
"Good morning"Reyna greeted.
"Somebody woke up late and that's usual"Nana said while putting some mayonnaise in her breast "care for some??"Nana offers her some bread.
"Thank you" Reyna collects it and sits down.
"You don't usually wake-up this late…are you good??"
"Yeah I'm fine…just slept late yesterday"Reyna eats slowly.
"Ohhh…. reasons??"
"Nana mind your business" Reyna joking said.
"Okay…by the way Jade said to remind you of your marketing class by 12pm" Nana said lackadaisical.
"And you're just telling me now!!!..oh my goodness!!" Reyna panicked.
"Chill girl…. it's just a few minutes past eleven".
"Thanks for the bread..I need to get ready"Reyna rushes into the bathroom.
After lectures, Reyna was at the school garden when someone walked up to her from behind,she didn't need to look back to know who it was;his unique sweet scent was something she could recognize anytime. She turned and greeted him with a smile which he returned.
"Here comes my personal tutor" Reyna teased.
"And now she's teasing me…haha ... .So what's a beauty doing alone in the garden??"
Reyna rolled her eyes.
"I saw that !!" Liam said faking angry
It was meant for you to see silly..she laughs.
Liam chuckles "so I'll see you at the library later"
"Yeah sure!"
"Alright then"Liam winks at her with a sly smile and jogs off and Reyna watches him with a smile on her face when a voice interrupts and startled her.
"Hey.."
"Oh my goodness Jade…you startled me"
"Sorry darling ..so are you now having feelings for Mr nice guy??"
"He has a name and the name is Liam"Reyna said as she rolls her eyes
"Well I just wanted to let you know that he's a f**k boy and he's one of those use and dump guys".
"You don't know that!!" Reyna tried to sound okay but hearing that Liam was a playboy hurt her really badly.
"See this" Jade hands Reyna her phone.
Reyna shakily collects the phone.
"Okay darling that him and some girls he dated or should I say slept with cause rumor has it that he doesn't even ask them out,he just picks interest …have s*x and soon dumps them"
"I don't think that's true" Reyna said defensively.
"Don't be defensive and turn deaf ears to the truth, don't fall for him darling…I don't want him to treat you like the rest" Jade said with concern.
"What does that even mean??"Reyna shrugged.
"Be careful Rey!"
"I'm careful" Reyna returns Jade's phone.
"I'm just looking out for you Rey "
"I get it" Reyna leaves.
Reyna was sitting alone in the library wearing a long moody face when Liam walked up to her desk.
"Someone looks angry" Liam teased.
"What do you want??"she rolls her eyes.
Are we back to the “what do you want "phrase again?? Liam asked and she rolled her eyes as reply.
"You look sexy when you roll your eyes"Liam teased.
"Don't try flirting with me…I'm not one of your girls"she warned.
"I know that!!...none of them is half as beautiful and Intelligent as you, miss salty"he said while staring directly into her eyes.
Liam!!!!...she growls .
"Okay fine I'll stop but you have to tell me why you have this long face" Liam giggles.
"I owe you no explanation" Reyna glared.
"But I thought we're friends"Liam whined.
"Listen Liam..I want to be alone"
"But we are suppose to study together" Liam shrugged.
"I changed my mind" Reyna packed her books.
"Reyna what's the issue.."Liam was confused at her reaction "did I do or say something wrong??"
Liam asked with a sad and dejected look on his face, which quickly made her realize she was overreacting and she sat back down slowly.
"Sorry" she muttered under her breath.
"What's wrong??" Liam asked with a concerned look.
"I don't know…I probably overreacted and I have no right to lash out on you cause I'm nobody to you..I'm sorry can we just skip today's study.. Please don't ask me any further questions.. please…"Reyna stands up and leaves with tears in her eyes.
"Can I atleast take you home?"Liam asked with a hint of concern in his voice
I'll rather not….thank you..Reyna leaves.
