Kevin made himself scarce the next morning and when Diane received Monica and Monica asked where hubby was, Diane had to admit she didn’t know. Monica appeared displeased as they took seats on the couch. Diane was about to explain how well the week had gone in attempt to appease her, when Kevin rushed up from the basement. He crossed the living room dressed and groomed like he was on his way to a job interview. “Monica, I just wanted to thank you.” He held his hand out. When Monica kept her hands in her lap, he quickly pulled his back. “You really gave us the jump start we needed. This week has been…well, it’s been…” Immediately rattled by Monica’s reticence, he nodded Diane’s way, almost begging her to chime in with her support.
