Episode 3: Leverage

"Aw, are you now?" Clara teased, her voice a smoky purr. She took advantage of the slight slack in his hold to pivot, putting a few feet of distance between them before hopping up onto the edge of the mahogany conference table. She leaned back on her palms to study him with feigned boredom, crossing one tailored leg over the other. She began to swing her foot with a lazy, rhythmic grace. It was a calculated display of nonchalance, especially considering her n*****s were hardening into tight diamonds against her lace bra, betraying the heat radiating off her skin. "Unfortunately, we still have a problem," she said, tapping a manicured nail against her chin. "My clauses are still crossed out. All you’ve done is sign a contract that gives you exactly what you want. It does nothing for me. Why on earth should I sign it—or accommodate you—on those terms?" Aldrick let out a sharp, breathless laugh, his gaze dropping instantly to the sharp peaks straining against her blazer. A slow, wicked grin cut across his face. He prowled toward her, eyes locked on her swinging foot. Just as it came forward, he reached out, his hand snapping around her ankle to bring the rhythm to a sudden, jarring halt. "You really think you're the only one who can read a room, darling?" he murmured, his voice a low, raspy vibrato. He held her there for a second, enjoying the flush rising on her cheeks, before letting her ankle drop. He turned slightly, reaching across the surface of the table to snag the contract she had left behind. He held the document up between them, his eyes never leaving hers. "Look at the signature, sweetheart." Clara’s eyes flickered to the page. His name was scrawled at the bottom in that familiar, aggressive ink, but it wasn't on the copy she had expected. "I didn't sign the old draft," Aldrick growled, his voice vibrating with a smug, possessive pride. "I signed your copy. The one with your clean, un-crossed-out clauses. I know my own damn paperwork, and I know exactly what I just signed away to keep you in this room." He let the paper flutter to the floor, forgotten. With his interest now purely on her, he stepped forward, placing his hands on her thighs to firmly uncross her legs. He pushed them aside, stepping directly between her knees. "First of all," he began, his voice dropping into a dark, intimate growl, "your little 'diamond problem' is telling a much more honest story about what you're willing to accommodate." His hands slid further up her thighs, the firm pressure of his palms signaling his intent. "Every single thing you asked for is yours. It’s done. The deal is sealed." He stared at her hard, ensuring the weight of the concession sank in. Then, he braced his hands on the mahogany on either side of her hips, crowding her until she had no choice but to lean back further on her palms. He leaned in, invading her space until his lips were right at her ear. He lowered his voice to a gravelly, intimate command. "So tell me... what's my return on investment?" He pulled back just enough to catch the defiance and the pulse jumping in her throat. Clara leaned into the microscopic space he’d left, looking up at him—really looking at him—and allowing her own professional mask to shatter. "What are you going to take?" she whispered, her voice laced with a dangerous, provocative edge. Clara spread her legs wide around his hips, pulling him into the space between her knees. As she drew him flush against her, the friction of his body against hers sent a jagged shiver through them both. The last thread of Aldrick’s control snapped. A low, ragged groan ripped from his chest. One of his hands slammed flat onto the table behind her to support his weight as he crowded over her, while the other buried itself deep into the hair at the back of her head, his thumb anchoring her jaw. "Everything," he rasped against her lips, his voice thick, dark, and completely breathless. "I'm taking everything you've been holding back since you walked through that door." He didn't give her another second to tease him, to smirk, or to utter a single sassy syllable. Aldrick crushed his mouth down onto hers, overtaking her lips in a bruising, desperate kiss that had been building for months. It was dominant, heavy, and hot, his tongue tangling with hers as he pushed himself even harder against her, letting her feel exactly what her little game had just cost him. His hand at her jaw slid down, his palm gripping her throat lightly before tracing down the front of her blazer, his fingers practically ripping at the buttons to get to the fabric underneath. He pulled back just a fraction, the sudden distance an agonizing contrast to the heat of his body pressed against hers. His chest was heaving, his eyes dark, wild, and fixed on her with a predatory focus that made it clear exactly how close he was to the edge. "I’ve given you every opportunity to back away, and you’ve chosen to push me instead," he growled, his voice a low, gravelly vibration that signaled the end of his patience. "This is your final warning, Clara. Tell me to stop. Tell me right now, sweetheart, or I am tearing this suit off you and taking everything right on this table." "Don't you dare!" Clara snarled, the fiery corporate executive returning in full force. Before he could answer, she reached up and crashed her mouth back into his, effectively reclaiming his lips. She let out a low, desperate growl between their chaotic, bruising kisses, matching his intensity stride for stride. Clara pulled back just a hair, her breathing ragged. "You will not ruin this suit," she warned, her eyes flashing with cold, corporate precision even as her body betrayed her. "I have a merger to close and a reputation to maintain. I am not walking out of here looking like the victim of a boardroom brawl." She reached up, tightly gripping a fistful of his dark hair to pull his face down to hers, making her point explicitly clear. The sharp tug made Aldrick’s head snap back, but instead of backing off, he let out a dark, appreciative laugh against her lips. He leaned into the pain, his hand gripping her waist so tightly his knuckles bruised against her hip through the fabric of her skirt, anchoring her firmly to the mahogany. "Always the CEO, aren't you?" he rasped, his voice a low, gravelly vibration that promised trouble. He held her gaze, his eyes burning with a mix of frustration and raw, possessive heat. "Even when you’re moments away from coming undone, you’re still protecting your precious image." He pressed his hips into hers, a grinding, heavy movement that left no room for argument. "Fine," he growled, a dark, breathless smirk touching his mouth. "The suit stays intact. I wouldn't want the board wondering why my smartest adversary looks like she just survived a wreckage. But don't mistake my compliance for mercy, sweetheart. You might keep the outfit, but you’re still leaving here with my mark on you." He didn't wait for her to answer. He slid his hand up from her waist, his palm pressing flat against her stomach as he smoothed the fabric of her blazer upward to find the hem of her shirt. His fingers were searing against her skin, and as he lifted himself just an inch to catch his breath, his eyes burned down into hers—dark, possessive, and completely feral. "But if the clothes stay on, sweetheart..." Aldrick murmured, his voice dropping into a low, commanding growl as his other hand slid down her thigh, gathering the hem of her skirt and bunching it up past her hips. "...you're going to have to do exactly what I say. Arch your back for me."
