Separate Tasks

"Marlo, Marlo!" a voice whispered to his left. "Who is there?" he asked as he only saw darkness. Out of nowhere a hand grab him and pulled him into a dark room. A door closed and suddenly the light was turned on. Marlo blinked a few times before his eyes became adjusted to the sudden brightness. "What in the world is going on?" he asked as he was surrounded by his friends. "Shhh!" Liah shushed as she placed her fingers on Marlo's lips. Tico then used his special device to check for any bugs that might be in the room. After doing a thorough sweep, he nodded to Liah."Okay... Something big is going down tonight," Liah said pacing the floor before Tico and Marlo. "Have you heard from Sharla as yet?" Marlo asked. "Nico said they will return later today. They are having dinner with her parents as we speak.""You mean breakfast?" Marlo corrected. "No ... pretty sure it's dinner as she just woke up in Cetale, which is now night" she replied."What are they doing all the way out there? Didn't she go to her father to help them with the demon infestation," Marlo asked."Well, that was three days ago, a lot has transpired since then. Her parents took her and Nico to do some special research so they will be back later," she replied still pacing. "Liah,  can you stand still and face me, please. What is happening?" he asked tiredness still painted on his face. "Someone is trying to sabotage the school. And we also need to find the swords of Elohim and Apollyon. This is very important but at the same time we don't want to leave the school vulnerable to the conspirators trying to plot against Father White," she began. Marlo grabbed a chair and sat down and wipe his hand over his face trying to keep it awake. 

"So, we are going to have to separate the team. I think as it is now the team is split with Sharla and Nico already in Cetale. We can work here to uncover the plot against the school and Father White," he said.

"That is one way to do it, but I can suggest another way. Since Marlo and I helped set up the security features and defences. Perhaps I can stay to monitor things here while you two go and find Renwar and Joy while Nico and Sharla locate the swords, in that way everyone is busy doing what they are supposed to be doing and when we reunite, we would have accomplished a great achievement that no other team has ever done. They might even give us our own statue with our names on it." Tico said smiling. In his mind, he saw lights, a camera, his name in the spotlight with a statue of his image and a beautiful girl in his arms as he emerged from an expensive high-end car to take the red carpet. 

"Hello...Tico...," Liah said as she tried to bring back to reality.

"Ahem, yes," he said as he came out of his fantasy.

"You went pretty far this time huh!" Liah smiled. Tico turned his head and folded his arms as he sat on the next available chair.

"I think what you said is a great Idea. I know we can trust you to take care of this end. But we should set up other teams to work with you should the need arise," she suggested.

"Okay now that it's been decided, where will you guys be going?"  Tico asked. 

"Well, I keep getting images of two different locations, one is Cantala, and one is Gerkandi. So maybe we should tackle Cantala and send Sharla and Nico to Gerkandi," she advised. 

"Great, then we just need to inform Sharla and Nico of our plans, I will do it now." She held her head and her eyes went white for a few minutes before returning normally. "She agreed and will leave from Cetale to Gerkandi and then we will meet back here in two weeks' time. I think that should give us enough time to find our targets. Don't you think? I mean all we need to do is locate them and then bring them back here, right?" she asked. 

"You are hoping things will work out easy for us."

Citale

The small group gathered in beach attire on one of the beachfront properties Atéri privately owned in Citale. They had their own little lounge under an umbrella with a fruit drink with an umbrella next to them on a small beach table. 

"Dad thanks for giving us some quiet time to think and forget about our problems," Sharla said as she drank some of her fruit drinks. 

Suddenly Sharla held her head and her eyes went white then back to normal a few minutes later. Sharla sat up on the lounge bed and faced her parents and Nico who was now on his third drink. 

"Mom, Dad... Nico and I need to leave now and go on separate tasks. I trust that you guys can find your way back safely," Sharla said as she hugged her parents. "Of course, we can find our way home. You children go and do what you need to do but if you need any help just call on us," her father said. 

Sharla and Nico went to get ready for their new mission. 

"So, where in Gerkandi do you think we should check," Nico asked. 

"The pyramids are a good place to start, they are one of the oldest historic places there," she replied. 

"Okay, how do you want to go, teleport, plane ride or boat?" he asked placing his backpack on his back. 

"We have two weeks. So the sooner we reach the better we have time to plan and execute what needs to be done."

"Right, teleporting it is. Nico then made a circular sign with a golden bracelet on his hand. Good thing we brought these with us before leaving school huh?" he said as a magical portal opened before them.

"Let's get to it then," Sharla said as they stepped through the portal.
