“There’s lots of banks in Chicago,” observed Emmett. “We should be able to find one and make a nice payday for ourselves.” “Where you figure we’ll head after this?” asked Tom, smoking his millionth cigarette of the day. “I dunno,” said Emmett. “Maybe we’ll take a vote.” When they reached Chicago, they drove around looking at all the banks, finally settling on one called the West Town State Bank. This decision wasn’t based on anything more than Jimmy and Tom’s saying it “felt right,” but Emmett figured he’d let them have their way since they were starting to question his decisions.
